A no-brainer purchase.....
The author of the excellent Digital Modeling book has perhaps surpassed even that work with a seminal publication about one of the hardest aspects of 3D modeling - understanding topology and how to really think like a modeler, yet without any compromise at all he has taken it down to a level where even us dumb peeps can understand (!).This is information which usually takes years of experience to acquire and is very rare to see tackled head-on at all, but is presented clearly and succintly and I don't think I have ever seen a teacher with this level of gift for imparting traditionally difficult knowledge in such an extremely fun way.Though not a direct modeling book, if you are in any way serious about modeling, this is an essential purchase which could save you literally years of time.

Essential Book for unlocking the secrets of Good Topology and Topology Management.
I highly recommend this book. For beginner or for reference for anybody else. If you are interested in modelling, learning modelling, or just wanting to brush up on your topology skills, then this is the book for you. Clear, concise, with lots of examples. And if you practice, what you learn from the examples, then you will soon develop the skills, to develop your own clean topology, in your own models. The book is very well written, superbly presented and in full colour. It is not software specific, and so you can take what you learn, and apply in whatever 3D software you use. This is a book that I have been searching for, for a long time!

This book is really very good at explaining how to solve the faults sometimes created in meshes, especially after subdividing the surfaces. I use Modo as my go-to modeller and William says that it is Modo that he uses in the book, but, that should not put off people using other software, the fixes apply to whichever software you use. I'm only part way through this at the moment, but it's a defo keeper.

Invaluable if you are learning polygon modelling
As someone relatively new to polygon modelling triangles and n-gons can be the bane of my life. To the best of my knowledge the techniques for correcting topology issues in 3D meshes presented here are not readily available anywhere else and certainly aren't available presented in such an instructive way. I've had this book a week or so and I am already a more skilled modeller and have gone back and fixed many of the issues I gave up on in my previous work.Highly recommended.

Well worth buying. Improved my mesh knowledge no end and already saving me time and improving results.
Really terrific book. Explains many and various ways to solve problems in a mesh. Easy read. Many pictorial examples shown in a consistent way to be more helpful. Packed with info.If you are into creating 3D items will help your workflow, problem solving ability and add to your knowledge.

Very dissapointed in this book
Same as other books. Doesn't actually walk you through any helpful techniques or tips for asset creation. Simplistic examples with no room for the learner to experiment. Every other page (basically) advertises character models created by the books author. Its sign of what could have been. 'wouldn't it be great if you could model this!?'The book is strictly topology, i.e why you should have all quads, edgeflow is mentioned but never covered. No book seems to actually teach edgeflow.
