Sploosh!!! Would buy again
I love this wah pedal! It's the wah pedal I dreamed of when I first used basic crybaby and Vox wahs. My issue with the basic models is the toe switch. If you're trying to fly into a wah solo or just using it on a chorus or certain part of a song, you want to make sure the pedal comes on. I'm not worried about an old switch and it doesn't start out with all the treble. If you are someone that just cocks it in position, this wah is probably not for you, hence the 4 stars. But you can tweak everything, boost into distortion, and think about what you are playing as opposed to hoping the pedal engaged. I was worried that I couldn't go heal down for too long with out it turning off, but you can feel a point where it holds on the effect, so you can play all the Alice In Chains you desire...

TONE CONTROL.
I love wha's for their ability to control tone primarily and volume boost and the wha-wha effect secondarily. Some of the tones you can get sweeping through the 95Q's spectrum are 'searingly wicked' and perfect for cutting through the mix. This really adds to the expensiveness of your guitar playing. For myself, a must have pedal for that reason alone.

Possibly the best Dunlop wah without spending more $$$ for signature ones...
My fairly new (to me, I bought it used) Dunlop wah 535q was giving me trouble here and there with intermittent sound when trying to use it. That would be a deal-breaker when gigging. So I bought the Dunlop 95q after reading so much positive things about it. At first I felt like taking a step back from the 535q but it still has Q (bandwidth) and boost controls that I'm used to and need. But the secret gem was the added benefit of auto on/off; stepping on the treadle turns it on and stepping off turns it off, no need to hard click on toe position with the unwanted high frequency wack! I cannot recommend this wah pedal enough, it sounds beautiful and the operation is so seamless now.

Better than the regular wah by far.
I freakin' LOVE this wah! The features that are included on this version all work well and all do what they say they will do. I was concerned before I bought it, but the auto on/off feature works very well and is quiet. I like that I don't have to push the wah all the way down into the wide open position to turn it off. So the there's no giant wacka sound just from wanting to turn the thing off. Very cool. Plus the on/off click on my old one was quite audible. This just turns off when you let go and does so very quietly. The ONLY issue I have with this wah is that every once in a while, I used to like to set my wah in one position and leave it there and play to get a certain kind of sound. It's not really possible (or very difficult) to do that with this wah because the spring is always trying to push the rocker up. To me it's well worth that small trade off to get all the other cool features. Buy it!!!

Love it so far.
I've used the original for so many years, I catch myself on stage trying to shut this one off by stepping on it when I'm done instead of just stepping back and letting it do the job. Funny, because the auto-shutoff is the main reason I bought it! I've only had it for a few gigs so far, but it works perfectly, sounds great, and the extra controls are just icing on the cake. Now we'll just see if it stands the test of time as well as my Original Crybaby.

Why use a switch?
Can't understand why anyone would be the kind that needs to be switched on. (Don't bother to tell me; I know.) Great tone, lots of flexibility, nice smooth action on the wah. I've been hooked on this for 20 years--just replaced the old one that finally ran out of springback. Can't complain; got my money's worth out of it. I've had quite a few friends try it after using the conventional kind with a switch and they all loved it. If you like the CryBaby sound, give this one a try.

Adds expressiveness to your playing...
Wah responds as soon as stepped on, great! I have used the Tremonti and Bad Horsie switch less wahs, but this one is the classic heard in countless records, also it is extremely transparent compared to the others when engaged. In summary I love all my swutch less whahs, but this one is definitely one of my favorites in terms of sound, well done Dunlop.

optical is cool
super solid, I like the extra features. Optical doesn't allow for cocked wah, but otherwise is way more stable.

Come back Baby, all is forgiven!
After having one particularly embarrassing night at a gig where I played 4 songs sounding like I was playing through a transistor radio before realising that I had stupidly left my Wah switched on, I ditched my Crybaby in favour of a Morley Bad Horsie. The Morley never sounded how I though a proper wah should, but at least it only worked when I wanted it to.Then after all these years, I stumbled across the 95Q which had the same switching system and after all those unfulfilling years with a Bad Horsie, I'm finally back in the saddle! Love this wah so much as it sounds great and has put me back in touch with my inner funky self (was going to say Shaft but that sounded a bit rude) and my solos have gone from gash to Slash! Not only does this have the switching I love but it's also adjustable in terms of wah sweep and engaged level (although I've not really used these features much). It also has a mains power inlet, unlike my original CryBaby which only ran on batteries which involved removal of at least 3 feet to change (and the only time I ever want to remove feet is when my wife has been out feeding her shoe habit!).The only drawback I can see to this pedal is that you can't leave it on half cocked but I don't think that would be a problem for 99% of players (certainly not for me) so I can only recommend this 100%.

The missing link
This is a great addition to my pedals ...Jim Dunlop Cry Baby’s are the real deal . Watched a vid about Fender v Gibson and realised the Cry Baby was probably more essential than all my other pedals put together ! It gives you wonderful control over texture level and fading with feedback sounds etc . Brilliant

Funky Wah!
Took ages to decide which Wah to buy - the market is flooded with options; very pleased with 95Q. The auto on / off is very smooth; I was not sure I would use the volume boost option, but it is great for balancing the sound between effect on and off; and the Q option to vary the amount of quack the pedal delivers is also a useful tweak. Pedal give loads of expression, either as a stab or swell; great for funk; also tops for rock and blues; guess metal-heads might want a signature model of a metal specific player from the same range; but the functions on this pedal are more than enough for me.

Best Wah I've Ever Used.
It's a lot of money, but it's worth it. I've used loads of Wahs over the years and this has the best control over the sound you could ask for. The volume boost is helpful, the Q control is great (set it and forget it) and the sound is absolutely beautiful. This gives you the kind of expressive wah that you so often want but generally don't get. The build quality is solid (and it is HEAVY) and the absolute best feature is the step on, step off switchless operation. It's seamless. If you gig a lot and you switch between a lot of sounds, this wah is an absolute gift. Best I've ever used.

Why did Dunlop take so long?
If you have used the original cry baby and if/when you decide to buy a new one get this version. No more stomping to engage it. Put your foot on it and it just works straight away. Excellent bit of kit.
