The author explained in the Foreword to this 2005 book that it contains pictures from around the world of homes with "over-the-top displays." as well as testimonies from those who created them. Most participants state that their decorated homes make a real difference in their community, and help share the joy of Christmas with others.Some note (e.g., pg. 25, 137) large increases in their light bills (as much as $1,200 for a month), but this is not a deterrent.Some (e.g., pg. 39, 87) accept donations from viewers to raise money for favorite charities, such as the Cancer Society.A very lively and entertaining volume.

I will probably never do some of the decorations shown in this book, but they are certainly enjoyable to look at. The price of the book is worth every penny and if I had to do it over, I would purchase it again.

I go nuts when I see Christmas lights. I would love to decorate our home like the griswals.this book is my favorite. iwould highly recommend it.to everyone that likes to decorate.

Not impressed at all. Was hoping for bright, colorful pictures and this book is very dull. I was quite disappointed.

I don't have the space or the money to have an extreme Christmas at my house, so I build on to what I have every year. This book inspired me to try some new things and each family who contributed to the making of the book had some neat tip or suggestion. I like having the best display in my neighborhood every year. The adults might think Christmas decorating is a waste of time and money, but the kids love it. I can't wait for next Christmas. My favorite is the elegant house and yard display from Springfield, Massachusetts on page 26. Other favorites are the Rice family on page 95, and the wonderful London displays on page 112 & 113.

I love Christmas displays and this is one of the best books I've found. IT features displays from around the world in full, vibrant color.

This is a beautiful book. The pictures were excellent. I really enjoyed it and got some good ideas for my decorating.

A very jolly book which will provide a couple of hours of entertainment. The glossy pictures are lovely.
