And if that weren't enough, they inject so many inspirational messages into the 11 songs on their debut that one could almost mistake them for a contemporary Christian band. Musically, this band stands proudly next to such earnest forebears as Creed, matchbox twenty, and Lifehouse. The latter makes sense given that Calling guitarist Sean Woolstenhulme's brother, Rick, is Lifehouse's drummer. With their brooding, contemplative lyrics about love, loss, rejection, and revenge, the Calling embark on an anxious journey into the state of modern relationships. And while they don't offer any conclusions, they certainly provide an interesting mirror on an apprehensive time. Alex rocks!!
Oh Alex! I love you! Hehe I have over 400 CDs and this is my favorite cd. Yes I maybe bias but I even like it over his others. The Calling is no more but Alex Band is still making music. So check him out. I've had this cd from the first day it came out but in a move I lost it and couldn't find it, so I got another. Well I found the other cd. Lol so one stays in my house and the other in my car.

The album that started it all.
There isn't a song that Alex has put out that I don't like. His music is uplifting, inspiring, touching, moving. Every moment, every situation, he's able to touch on that, to reach his audience, and express that which we all feel at one point or another. His music is timeless and his dedication to his craft is astounding. No other artist in my experience has put forth the amount of effort that Alex has.

I love this album. I lost it many years ago and I decided to get it back. The songs are just perfect and Alex Band's voice is so unique that gets you the very first moment you listen to the first track.

Brilliant!
This is a wonderful CD full of an eclectic range of songs, some moving and some that just make you want to at least tap your feet, I do think it is a disc better played at a decent volume - not ear-splittingly loud but loud enough to feel the beat and listen to the lyrics which at times are quite haunting - a great purchase, speedily delivered, played A LOT! Lol x

Old Album
This album is quite a few years old but remains a really good listen. Harmonies are great and the lyrics can be understood.
