Great Book for Newbies or Veteran Nail Techs Re-Entering the Nail Industry
This is a great book for all PROFESSIONAL nail technicians. I am a licensed professional of 17 years. I took a hiatus for a number of years for health reasons and recently decided to get back into the industry. I purchased this book based on another Amazon review and it was well worth every penny! It was packed with information on how to use social media to boost your business, simple yet practical marketing strategies, and how to say no" to your clients so that you have a good work/life balance. This will ultimately allow you to have a successful career that you love and don't grow tired of. Her marketing strategies were easy to understand and do not require a lot of money to implement. Not only did Trish tell you what didn't work for her, but she gave you ideas and information that will help you become a great/better nail technician. After reading this book, which took 2 days because I could not put it down, I had the confidence I thought I had lost and was so motivated that I began working on my business plan - which she also covered EXCELLENT information on. I also have more info on how to use Facebook and Twitter to my business' advantage. Whether you're an student, newbie fresh out of school, or a veteran nail technician, this book is a MUST HAVE!

Very good info
This book gave a lot of information from how to get customers to how to keep customers. It even outlines basic procedures and great marketing ideas. Plus she tells you how to balance your life and work.

was not that good for me
I had a bunch of business classes in college and wanted to learn actual steps of opening a nail salon: operations, finding the right vendors, hiring staff, etc. This book did not provide that information and focused mostly on marketing from someone who had never had marketing class at school so she kept saying the basics over and over again as it was something nobody knew before. I'll keep looking for a better manual.

Not so fast
In Trish's much more expensive system sold through the internet (I am on her email list), she admitted she no longer manages salons with little more explanation than it may not have been her passion - which is very worrisome for someone trying to tell you how to improve your own salon - I can't do it but I will tell you how to do yours better. There is little evidence to go on with this kind of self-anointed guru, as they tend to have slick marketing campaigns and it can be almost impossible to prove they actually know anything about helping you improve your business.I did not find either of the 5 star reviews helpful or necessarily credible. The good thing to say about the book over her GLOSS system, is at least you can probably sell the book back if it doesn't bear up under scrutiny. I did a lot of study on these books and courses, and generally you will probably collect a few interesting tidbits but it is unlikely this or any other book/course will be as groundshaking as they present.Instead, I would advise reviewing a number of books like this and you can collect a few ideas here and there. Don't fall for how easy they make it seem - that is not how it works. I read many books on salon and spas and they mostly tend to say the same thing. Again, you can always sell your book back as used when you are done.

Not helpful
I didn't find this very helpful, it's American based and although there are some useful tips, the useful parts are just common sense. I didn't really get anything out of it and it's out of date too.
