Brilliant, well was a little disappointed to start with as it seemed really slow, but removed McAfee and it is as good as much higher spec machine. Well done Toshiba, poor show McAfee!

The laptop had problems,when playing a video someone sent me on facebook, or playing a u tube recording the screen showing the video would all be all green.I had to take it too our computer man here in spain to delete a programme to make it work right, I hope I am not going to have any more problems. Good value although slow at times. I think I will be using it for serious applications like documents. My Kindle is much faster for internet, more practical for books and film TV.I don't know if Windows 8 is part of the problem or the processor AMD E1. I think you get what you pay for.

Ordered product after reading good reviews and when it arrived I sent it back due to uncontrollable touch pad. With in three days received a replacement before sending the original back. The touch pad is just the same Now I find I have ordered a laptop without a disc drive which I find amazing, there was no mention in the spec that it didn't have one so I have no redress but to me it's like selling a car with no wheels.Windows 8.1 is crap, slow and indecisive and cannot recommend it in any way. DON'T BUY IT!

This is poorly designed and disappointing. I have used Toshiba laptops for the last five years and found them to be excellent machines. This particular model, however, is a disappointing surprise.When I first received it, the browser immediately filled with pop-ups despite Windows 8 telling me that all was secure. I downloaded Ad-Aware to ensure I and my family could browse safely.When Windows 10 came along, I immediately upgraded because my thinking was it would make the machine faster. Which actually it did as Windows 8 jammed a whole load of useless apps in the start-up window. Windows 10 is cleaner and faster.My main issues with this laptop are:Processor speed, it's clear the chip installed, the AMD, just isn't fast enough. Often, my wife or myself can load the web-page we want on our phones faster.Overly sensitive mouse that either selects everything or clicks when your finger is barely touching it. Obviously, my USB mouse is used as frequently as possible.Heavy screen - a laptop that is top heavy! Tilt the screen back too much and it falls over!Having said all that, it does function very well as a MP3 player. And if you only have one window open at a time, it can do that job reasonably well.In summary, this is a budget option laptop which can do most of the things you expect from a laptop but at dial-up speeds.Currently, as I type this, I'm moving a desktop folder of photo's to the Photos folder and it has taken five minutes to achieve 0% transfer. It's like watching a simpleton with the Times cryptic crossword, you feel sorry for it.

Amazing price for a Toshiba. One pixel out on screen. Once I dumped Macafee, which kept on trying to upgrade me, it worked fine. Undid 15 screws on the back, very easy to upgrade memory and hard drive, tutorial on Youtube so I maxed up the Ram.I use Macs - this is for a special project where I don't want to take a Mac. It isn't a Mac, but at around a seventh of the price of a Mac, I'm not complaining. It will undoubtedly outlast my Macbook, I've had three, Macbooks, they all drop to pieces, due mainly to the tin lid not being up to bouncing on the floor, If Macs were built like Toshibas and Toshibas worked like Macs it would be heaven.

I am enjoying the speed of this processor and the look of the lap-top. one or two minor hiccups but mostly to do with the internet connection, but machine did crash once and I had to reboot back to factory settings

This laptop will never be the fastest or most productive but if your looking for something you can type assignments on, browse the web and use Skype (which is exactly why I bought it) then for less than £200 it will do the job. Runs windows 8.1 which due to the new Intel drivers cannot be successfully downgraded to windows 7. Battery is only a 4 cell but as the process is ULV (Ultra Low Voltage) and the screen LED back light, it lasts a decent three hours with WiFi enabled. Don buy if your impatient or expecting the latest thing. A decent work tool for a student
