Nocturnal Paperback – May 25, 2018

I cannot believe I purchased this nonsense. I sat down to read it last night and thought "what am I not getting about this?" Here's what I did get:-- It sounds like a child wrote it-- There's no "form" about it. The author should pick up "The Book of Forms" and learn how to actually WRITE POETRY-- The themes and pronouns in the poems change from one line to the next, even in the tiniest of poems! I have no idea what the poems are actually about.-- And what is with the crap at the end "Eyes Wide Shut," "Diamond in the Rough." What is the purpose?-- I'm not sure if I want to return it or burn it. It might be more satisfying to burn it.I'm not sorry. What a waste of money.

Absolutely loved this collection of poetry. Such a good book for the free spirited.

Amazing! Wilder is an outstanding poet, illustrator and designer. Total artistic genius. Her words are deeply touching, tender and loving. I am in love with this short book, a definite re-read. The art work takes my breath away! Ahhhh!

holy macaroni I love this freaking book. I love poetry but I find most poetry books and writers relish on lost love and broken hearts. I've only been in one relationship and it is full of happiness and stability so I can never relate and those type of poems are just corny to me. I follow WILDER on Instagram (recommend you do as well) and when she posted her book was ONLY SIX DOLLARS ON AMAZON, I had to get it and I do not regret it. You can read it multiple times and each time get a different meaning looking at it with a different perspective. She rights in the perspective of fireflies for example, and you don't even realize it until you finish the poem and read it a couple more times. My favorite quote is "Hearts were made to live in the dark, maybe we were too." I just, UGH I could rant and rave about this book all day, but just buy it and see for yourself. Also the art work is beautiful I'm not sure who the artist is though, but you could seriously use this book as décor in your house. wilder if you see this, bless your beautiful heart

I own Wild is She her first poetry book, which is huge and has stunning artwork along with her poems. I knew before even looking into Nocturnal that I wanted to own it as well, I wasn’t disappointed at all! It’s small but mighty also filled with stunning artwork and some of the most resonant words I’ve ever read. I highly recommended both of her books!

I couldn't be more impressed with this book. Although small in size, every page packs a heartfelt punch that will have you longing for a quiet place to read it over and over again. The graphics within these pages and the way they so elegantly connect with the words and with each other demonstrate just how well thought out this book is. I adore Nocturnal and fully plan on purchasing it for several people in my life who I feel would benefit from this quality of poetic writing and storytelling.

If I could give this 101 stars I would. I'm fairly certain wilder knows the words and syllables and images and colors in everyone's soul. she has captured them all. I pick up this book and immediately feel both in another world and home at the very same time. Nocturnal is simple, stunning, dark, light, honest and profound.

I didn’t hate this book, but I didn’t really get it fully either. It felt a little scattered. Either I really liked and identified with the poem, or I didn’t get it at all. Some of them just didn’t make sense. I didn’t understand what the poet was trying to say. I like things that are thought provoking, but some of these poems just missed me completely. So overall, I give it three stars because there were poems I liked a lot. At this price point however, it wasn’t a bad purchase either. I think this is a great example where on something like Instagram, the aesthetic helps sell the words and it doesn’t translate to books as easily. Full disclosure however, I did not buy this poets first book due to the higher cost so maybe that book, with the pictures, would have been more my speed.

I bought this poetry book after finding the author Wilder Poetry on Instagram and falling in love with her raw but natural style of communicating. Her words speak to my soul and the book is a lovely size to carry around. The cover is soft and has a lovely feel. Pretty decorations and illustrations on the poem pages - perfect gift for teenage girls who like things a little dark or alternative, and adults too.

Wannabe poetry in 6 words. Maybe just a coffee read, but I hope we won’t start thinking in haiku

LOVED this purchased, got through it in two days. Some poems were more relatable then others, but the illustrations were beautiful and I really enjoyed reading it. I highlighted some that I really connected with. Would highly recommend
