Aisev Naturals - Soapstone Carved Leaves Mortar & Pestle

I purchased this item for my mother a little over two years ago. She enjoyed it. She passed away a year and a half ago and now her mortar and pestle is mine. I rarely use it, but I love it because it reminds me of the thing that my mom and I had in common, we both loved to cook. And having a mortar and pestle made us feel like real chefs. It was the main thing I wanted to keep when I packed up her things. As far as the item itself, it works great. It's a little smaller than I thought it would be, but that's not a problem. All in all, it's a handy little tool to have.

This mortar and pestle is so beautiful. The photo doesn't really do it justice. Mine has a lot of green as well as brown. The carving is intricate - there is even veining on the leaves. It's not as deep as some of my other ones, which I think would make it ideal for grinding up tablets or small amounts of herbs. Sometimes when I crush tablets in a deep M&P, it's difficult to scrape all of the powder out. I think this one would work well but alas, I don't have a thing that needs crushing right now.

I absolutely love it! The picture didn't do it justice! I use it for herbs, nuts, etc. When I don't need to use it I set it out as a decoration.I got it in record time and it was very securely packaged so there was no chance of damage during shipping. I will most certainly be making future purchases from "KHEOPS"!

Extremely disappointed. Expected beauty, received something that is not. Color aside, shape of my base is different, leaf pattern is "chalky", pestle is thicker with much larger end, and inside appears unfinished. Does not look like the image on line.

Very nice engraving but is smaller than what appears in on-line picture. Nice addition to my collection.

This would be for decoration ONLY!!! I came crumbled in the box. Too tender to use for what I wanted to use it for....what I thought it was made for, but this thing is too delicate for any real use. If you only want people to see it and you do NOT want to touch it. It is pretty.

Works great as advertised. Rub salt in it first to prep the bowl.

This a very nice addition to our kitchen. This mortar and pestle is a little on the small side, but still serves it purpose. Not to mention my wife loves the decorative design. I'm glad i spent a little more on this!
