Luxury Retro Leather Bound 5x7 Journal 100% Cotton Handcrafted Paper in Gift Box

Bought this a few days ago, and was VERY impressed!!! Firstly, Delivery was prompt and as advertised. Secondly, The Journal was exactly as described in the product listing. The cover is a beautiful brown, soft, leather that is also sturdy and well processed. I could see no stains, defects, or other problems that would either weaken or detract from this Journal. The leather strap used to close the book is sturdy and well processed as well, with no discernible weaknesses.The Pages within the Journal are beautiful and bound with leather thongs within the book. I use a variety of inks for calligraphy, and of all of the dip inks i use, i have only had difficulties with one (that ink, however, was hand made by me, so I tend to discount the difficulties, lol). The pages help the ink to dry very quickly, with no capillary bleed off, and no bleed thru to the other side of the page. I DID try a white dip pen ink on the page, and found the colour to be rather difficult to see. But then, in truth, I did expect that to be the case. All in all, I was VERY satisfied with this product and would most definitely recommend this to anyone who asked about a good Journal. I do intend to buy another at a later date to have on hand as needed.Note: Just counted the pages within this Journal, and found instead of the 200 sheets (400 writing surfaces) there were only 196 sheets (392 writing surfaces). While this does not change my review overall, I felt it should be noted, since the product description claims 200 sheets. Still, even with that minor error, this is a Journal that I would buy again. :)

I went in search of a new journal never expecting to replace my old journal I bought at a craft fair years ago. This is it....I can't believe I finally found a journal that replaces my long ago filled travel journal! The paper is luscious and takes all ink and pencil I've tried on it beautifully. The feel of the cotton rag fiber paper is really more than I could have hoped for even with all the wonderful reviews. It is big enough that filling the pages isn't a yoga maneuver but small enough to toss in a backpack with no worries. The pages are mounted securely but still lay open. The leather used is high quality and the strap easily keeps the flap closed just wrapped around with a final tuck to keep it steady. I can't believe I finally found this journal! It exceeds all my hopes and I can't wait to fill it up! If you want a well made hand made journal this is it. I am thrilled!!

Oh my gosh, this is the neatest journal I have ever seen. It arrived in the mail today, and I absolutely love it. I haven't written in it yet as I literally just took it out of the box and I have to say it is the coolest journal ever! I like the size, it's a perfect size to carry around and take with you, it's big enough to write in without being so big that it is cumbersome to carry around. It feels good in the hand. I really like thick journals like this. This journal is very well made, sewn very well and strong and the leather is a nice rich dark brown and the pages are blank without the lines so you can draw and sketch or just write. It's the neatest thing ever.

I have been journaling for over 35 years. I have many chapters of my life in all kinds of styles of books; leather, pleather, cloth-covered...you name it. Having survived a particularly long and adverse illness, I now find a new appreciation of my life as a result of unexpected survival. This calls for some serious journaling and my husband found THE perfect vessel in which to write my story - this magnificent leather record; rich, fragrant leather bursting with the most luxurious almost cloth-like paper that absorbs my fountain pen thoughts like butter on a hot biscuit. I truly believe you will LOVE it as much as I do. I highly recommend this journal, and may need a second one before I am done!

It's definitely not what I expected I agree with others that it's the size of a bible but it has no hold what so ever if I could return it I would. It's not real leather and the paper is like a yellow color it's not bad to where I'm like " why did I waste my money" it's definitely not a rip off but if I had the option to return it i would it was a gift to me which I'm grateful for btw.

I really like it. I wasn't sure about the long strap...but I've learned a good way to loop it (with two tuck unders) so it holds tight. It's also a nice symbolic way to end any meeting that's going too long. When I start tying up my notebook, it's time to go! I just ordered two more as replacements since you can't replace the paper. So I should be set for a couple years!

I LOVE this journal. It's everything. The color in this picture is not at all accurate, but that's fine by me. It's a darker, richer brown. I literally love everything about it; the size, the PAPER, the rich look...I've already started using it and I love the way the ink sinks so comfortably into the paper. Thank you for providing the very journal I've wanted for oh-so-long, but was never able to find for a reasonable price.

Love this notebook. I actually give it 5 stars but I find myself scrolling past the perfect score ratings for something more realistic. Lots of pages, love the leather cover. Great for journaling.
