(4 Pack) Balsajo Black Garlic 1 Bulb

This order comprised four bulbs of black garlic, each separately boxed. Each bulb is a good size and the cloves have been well aged, all in excellent condition, no duff ones.I love the taste of black garlic, it's nothing like raw or fresh garlic. I can quite happily eat a clove like a sweetie and not be breathing garlic fumes over everybody for the rest of the day.Tastes like caramelised onion, sweetly balsamic, hint of aniseed, slightly treacly. These cloves are soft and fudgy, good, dark colour. These are soft and pliable, slice well, mash well, can be blended with oil to add terrific umami to dressings or mayo.I like them in all sorts of savoury sauces and a clove or two,sliced, in scrambled eggs lifts the eggs onto another level altogether.Delicious added to stews or casseroles, either whole or sliced, and give a real umami to pates and terrines.An absolute 'must have' to add to lamb dishes, risottos or anything with mushrooms.There's loads of recipes where black garlic can really add to the flavours of food.I used to buy the paste, but these cloves are really fuss free, easy to use and this order (bought in October '17) has shelf life of over a year.Definitely putting these on the regular order list as I don't want to be without these, especially for winter casseroles and pot roasts.

I really like these, the flavour is quite unique.Unfortunately several cloves were inedible due to being dried up, so that somewhat devalued my purchase

Bought this for a one-off recipe not realising how much I would get. It'll probably see me out!
