Castle: How It Works (My Readers) Paperback – September 18, 2012

David Macalay is a great author for children who are into wanting to know why & how. Detailed drawings help explain as well.

I teach art to young people, including a drawing class on Castles. This book was way too simple and uninteresting. I really couldn't use it for any age.

Very basic, meant for children, however it has all the basics I needed to know concerning the setup of a castle.

Perfect for beginning readers who love nonfiction and the era of knights and castles. Beautifully illustrated too, with great details.

As always, a wonderful book, especially for history-oriented kids, who are "into" castles and the days of old.

I was under the impression that this book was for teens/adults, and a hardback also- it wasn't. Damn,

Perfect introduction for young children with excellent illustrations.

Great Book.

The text is simple but engaging, as promised. Might not have much more to offer a kid who has already been interested in the subject for a while and gained some expertise. Knowing many of Macaulay's other books, I expected better of the illustrations, which appear to be computer-tinted sketches. They don't look bad or wrong but they do lack some spark.

I wanted to buy Castle by David Macaulay, instead of Castle: How it works by David Macaulay.The description for this product is that of castle, so I assumed this was the right one.

Arrived very late. Is now very dated for my purpose.
