These magnets are strong enough to Hold my 1911 to the under dash of my SUV. I used the screws to attach it. The supplied 3M tape is terrible.

Not as strong as I’d like it to be
I wouldn’t suggest these magnets for vehicle use. They do not hold the weapon or magazine straight.

Does the trick
Holds my .38 special revolver to the inside of my metal front door. Magnet holds onto gun very tight. Only complaint is that it sometimes slides down the door. I have to keep a constant eye on it to keep it out of reach of children. The magnet that holds it to the desired surface should be stronger in my opinion. We don't slam our door.

Solid! Love it!
My only complaint is that the mounting screws extend slightly past the wall studs so in order to mount it I had to mount it vertically. Which turned out to be great! It is just a little limiting if you plan on mounting it horizontally and you don't have drywall anchors. Perhaps you could do it without all that but I'd prefer it be rock solid. I did notice the magnet isn't strong enough to hold my XD with 17 rounds horizontally. My gun would slip and hang at an odd angle if put on the mount horizontally. My wife's Glock 43 with 6 rounds did something similar but not much. It works great for our applications.

Heavy duty magnets
Awesome. Didn't really use adhesive tape, but screwed directly to dash. They're pretty heavy duty, and will pinch your skin, if you're not paying attention. Holds theGlock 17, and Ruger LC9 great.

Works perfect for my setup.
I attached with the screws and adhesive tape. I'm now able to draw from my seat without pulling the holster out with the gun. Saves seconds that I hope I never need. Magnet is definitely strong enough for my Ruger LCR 357
