This e-reader is the absolute love of my life. I’ve travelled around 3 states with her in long gruelling journeys and I wouldn’t have it any other way. She’s the light of my life.Now onto the real review: its’s very easy to use. And especially with Calibre. Books are super easy to import in. My tip is to turn books into KEPUB and set the page settings to ‘Kobo Reader’ when converting books. I’m also using the screensaver feature to my full advantage!I watched a few videos on how e-readers work, and true to them: you only ever lose battery when you turn it on or off or when you’re interacting with it, like turning pages. So the battery last several days or weeks even if you’re reading constantly. It doesn’t lose any battery in sleeping mode. Lost like 7% battery when I finished a 400 paged book on a train. Which took me several hours because I had to pause a lot and sightsee the beautiful hills of Assam and fields of Bengal, haha.I have the BW version (the only Clara available on Amazon India) and I love reading on it. Brightness can be adjusted with ease with just a swipe. There is a small glare but it’s not bad. The words are clear and the screen is white and crisp.My hands are a bit big and as I’ve shown in the photos posted, this device fits in my hands quite snugly. I can access the whole screen with my thumb while also holding the device carefully. She’s perfect! The screen is big enough to not be an eyesore but it’s not too big to be an inconvenience.Is it worth the price? I thought the price was too much in India considering how rare reading is here. While my order was in transit I thought I regretted spending so much on a device that can only hold books and audiobooks. But all those regrets vanished as soon as it came in my hands lol. Still, the happiness of it won’t cloud my judgement for others: I don’t think it should be worth the amount it is listed for. They should lower the price on Amazon India at least. And no cases should cost thousands. The accessories are either not available or cost thousands. That’s one con I guess.ALSO:I was confused between a kindle and kobo but the recent behaviour of amazon kindles (updates that make sure the older still working devices don’t work anymore) really put me off buying it. I don’t have any previous kindle or any other e-reader to compare my experience to, but I wouldn’t trade my kobo for anything. I think it’s perfect for me.

Exceptional device that I bought primarily over its portability advantages over other options in the market - it easily fits in my sling bag. The display and the device is fast for an e reader, and I am able to sideload books very easily. The only minor gripe I have with the device is that the dark mode does not extend beyond the books, ie the menu options are still the normal light theme. But it’s a minor inconvenience. You won’t find a sleeker, lighter and more portable option in this segment in India.

This is my first e-reader, I would’ve gone for the B/W model but the prices were the same for both of them, so I went for the magical gift of colours. The software is intuitive and transferring your local books from laptops is a breeze. The price may seem on the higher end, but if you’re a book nerd, it’ll worth it trust me. Getting decent accessories at an affordable prices is the only con I can say. The screen quality is actually great, even tho people said the resolution won’t be as sharp and it will be darker, I adore the grainy effect, it looks like a newspaper. And the compact size is perfect for me, i can easily carry it in my bag without it feeling like a liability.

I've been using the Clara for over 2 months now and I'm really pleased with the device. If you're like me and you love reading while concerned with the space that physical books require, this is the device for you.No eyestrain, feels like reading a high quality glossy paper at 0 brightness, no distractions, easy to transfer ebooks using Calibre and very compact (fits in most back pockets and trouser pockets). Battery easily lasts a month on a full charge.It's a fun experience to read books and light novels. Not so good for manga as the text becomes hard to read and requires zooming. If reading manga is a priority, the Libra would be better.It does lag at times when trying to go to the next page. If you tap again, it gets registered as double tap. And there's a some ghosting, which can be changed in settings by increasing the refresh frequency. Because the screen is not flush with the bezels, it does gather dust and other particles. Better keep the display faced down when not in use.

After 1year use the screen is damaged and I haven't even used it properly. There is no support for this worst product all my money is wasted its not even reparable

I switched from kindle to kobo for the exact reason that most other people did. And I gotta say, I couldn’t be happier with my decision!No signing up, no logging in. Just attach the kobo to your laptop with a USB cable, drop your e-books into the kobo folder, and you’re ready to read. When you’re first setting it up, it does ask you to create an account. But you can very easily bypass this. Just google it. I promise you it’s not hard and even someone not very tech savvy could do it. You can absolutely have a privacy focused experience with the kobo.My e-reader needs are very basic. I don’t care in the least about bells and whistles. Which is why this model suits me. The most important thing for me is that I own the books on my device and they won’t just disappear someday.I did think of getting the color version. However, my eyes are not what they used to be so I need all the crispness and clarity i can get. The color versions seemed to be a little grayish and dull compared to the black and white version. Which I believe would have made it harder on my eyes. I watched about fifty videos and the screen on the color ones is indeed duller unless you really crank up the backlight. But then that means your battery depletes faster. On the black and white version, I have the backlight at about 20% and the text looks clear to me. So less charging, more reading.Overall, I’m very happy. This is a fantastic basic model and I am in love. If it turns out it’s not durable or something gets messed up over time, I’ll return and update this review.

Excellent ereader . UI is fast and easy to load epub books to the device.

I am very happy with it. The text on the screen is clear and crisp, making it very easy on the eyes for long reading sessions. I love the adjustable warm light, perfect for reading in bed. Its compact size makes it easy to carry everywhere. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an e-reader

i used to contempltate bringing my phyisical book with me all the time since it does take up a lot of spaces in my purse and heavy. but now i can read everywhere love it!

Pues sí, definitivamente.El contraste es espectacular. El brillo es simplemente perfecto, adaptándose maravillosamente tanto a la lectura en interiores como en exteriores. Tal vez las letras no se vean tan oscuras como en una pantalla Carta 1200 (la tecnología de pantallas Carta 1200 o Carta 1300), pero la verdad es que, siendo este un modelo con pantalla Carta 1300, el tiempo de refresco es notablemente mejor, lo cual se agradece mucho durante la lectura. También añadir que no se cansan los ojos al leerlo por la noche.Un punto a destacar es que hace falta una cuenta de Rakuten para poder usarlo. Sin embargo, si buscáis en internet, veréis que hay formas de utilizarlo sin necesidad de ponerle una cuenta.Además, la duración de la batería es impresionante, permitiéndote leer durante semanas sin necesidad de recargar. La interfaz es intuitiva y fácil de usar, incluso para aquellos que no son muy tecnológicos. La capacidad de almacenamiento es más que suficiente para albergar una amplia biblioteca de libros, y la conexión Wi-Fi facilita la descarga de nuevos títulos. También se puede conectar tanto por Bluetooth como por USB-C (es lo que uso yo para los libros) y puedes conectarlo al movil (sorpendentemente se puede usar el movil como batería para el e-reader)Una cosa que tal vez sea negativa para algunas personas es que no lleve Android pero vaya que yo no lo he echado en falta en absoluto.En resumen, si estás buscando un e-reader de alta calidad con un rendimiento superior y una experiencia de lectura agradable, este modelo es la compra que debes hacer.PD: También hay una cosa muy chula y es que (como veréis en la foto) al apagar el e-reader se queda el libro que estabas leyendo en la pantalla sin reiniciar los pixeles.

Lo adoro! Funziona alla grande. Come si legge dalle specifiche, ha la funzione di regolazione dell'intensità luce e della sua modalità (fredda, calda). Si può regolare la grandezza dei caratteri e i font, si può cercare agevolmente una parola sul vocabolario dopo averla sottolineata. Ha una grande memoria. É molto bello! Appare leggermente satinato (la copertura del Kobo Clara 2E era più liscia e lucida e più sensibile a subire graffi). Il processore é veloce. Kobo offre molta libertà di utilizzo e anche la possibilità di prendere in prestito degli e-book dal sistema Media library on-line delle biblioteche pubbliche (MLOL). Il catalogo di Kobo offre offerte interessanti! Sono davvero soddisfatta e adoro leggere con il mio Kobo Clara BW.

Un petit bijou qui me suit partout , j'aime les sacs plutôt petits et ma petite liseuse y trouve sa place. L'écran est de bonne qualité et l'affichage est rapide. Je n'ai pas pris la couleur , ce n'est pas utile si on lit surtout des livres sans illustrations.

After using it for a few days, I can confidently say it was the right choice.I’ve been getting back into reading, but it can become an expensive hobby if you want to own books instead of borrowing from the library or reading PDF versions online. One of the main reasons I wanted an e-reader was the E Ink display. Compared to reading on a phone or tablet, it significantly reduces eye strain and fatigue. So when I’m really invested in a story, I can keep reading for much longer without my eyes feeling tired.The biggest reason I chose the Kobo Clara BW over the Kindle Paperwhite was the ability to easily upload my own EPUB files. I liked that I would not have to rely only on a monthly subscription which can cost upwards of $15 a month. While downloading and transferring files takes a little extra effort, Kobo makes the process very simple. You can transfer books through a USB connection or use the web upload option, both of which are straightforward.One feature that pleasantly surprised me was the built-in dictionary. I know Kindle devices also have this feature, but I did not realize it was included on the Kobo until I went through the tutorial. It is incredibly useful because I can quickly look up unfamiliar words without having to pick up my phone or search on my computer.One concern I had before buying it was the screen refresh rate. When I tried my friend’s device, it was not as smooth as a typical phone or tablet screen. However, after using it for a while, I realized that this does not really matter for reading. Since you are only turning the page every so often, the slower refresh rate is barely noticeable. It only really comes up when setting up the device or organizing books.A few tips for new buyers: turning off Wi-Fi can dramatically extend the battery life, since Wi-Fi is only needed for accessing the Kobo store, audiobooks, or transferring files through the web.
