Excellent headphones, much better sounding than the Audio technica R70X's.That lasted seven weeks! Very neutral sounding With a controlled very deep bass.And with natural sounding midrange, and high's. I can see why they are labelled professional, with the sound quality they give.As some other reviewers have stated, these headphones are the choice of professionals recording studios. And I can well believe it, with the sound quality they give.I use my pair, to listen to music, with my old analogue Technics HiFi. They work really well, with this format, and the sound quality is sublime.They are very sensitive, and pick up errors in music recordings, that you won't hear through speakers. It can be disconcerting at first, until to recognise the errors.For example, on Al Stewarts Year of the cat album.On the first track " Lord Granville. " there is a slight knocking sound in the recording.When you hear it.It sounds like someone knocking on the door! It bought me out .I should add, they are very comfortable with the fabric ear pads.I can wear them for four hours, at a time. With no discomfort.Some reviewers, have said these headphones last for over a decade. I would be happy at that .They also sound good at higher volumes,without sounding strained or distorted.I would say, that that you get what you pay for.And these headphones are no exception! I'm very happy with mine.And I would replace them, with the same again. When they are worn out.Yes, they are easily worth the money. I highly recommend them for music use.

The Sony MDR-7506/MDR-V6/MDR-CD900ST is what many people in the audio space call a "tried-and-true" design. A simple metal headband with a vinyl finish and plastic driver housing. Though plastic, it is a very reliable material that can handle heavy usage and light weather. The three similar, yet different designs can be identified by the text on the driver. The CD900ST and V6 has a sticker that screams "FOR DIGITAL", while the 7506 has a sticker that says "PROFESSIONAL". I'd take off the sticker, looks even more professional.Beside sound, a headphone is worth buying if it is comfortable to wear for long listening sessions. The MDR-7506 is exactly that... if you have a smaller head. Though the headphone is light and the headband is able to cater for large heads, the pads do not. They are intentionally shallow to improve treble response and localisation (the ability to locate where certain sounds come from). If you are someone who has a large head, change the pads the second you get these. They will press against your outer ear, which gets pretty uncomfortable after an hour or two. I recommend a good quality leather pad such as the SOULWIT's or the YAXI stPad 2. These pads has more cushioning and better sealing, which helps with noise isolation and bass response. Actually, even if you have small heads, get new pads. The pleather material is likely to wear off quickly, especially in humid environments. Another thing you can do for comfort is to slightly bend the headband. As the headband is metal, it can be bent to suit larger heads better. Other than these small issues, the MDR-7506 is fairly light and comfortable for long usage.When it comes to sound, the best way to describe it would be "neutral-warm" that shows "honest" qualities. These do show flaws in recordings, the quality of the file you are listening to, and more subdued details that not many headphones within this price point cannot. The only headphone that can do this are the Koss PortaPro or the Koss KSC75 (technically an ear-speaker, but whatever). The bass is slightly warm, which more listeners tend to prefer. This helps with bass (the instrument), kick drums, timpanis, and footsteps. The mids are clear and revealing. Each and every part of the band is present without presenting honk or sounding hollow, and the treble is neutral, if slightly extended.This headphone is definitely recommended if you want a "honest" sounding headphone that will last you decades.

I also love that Sony hasn’t changed anything about them over the years, keeping that classic 90s hi-fi look intact.Negatives?• They fit almost like an on-ear headphone—my ears touch the insides of the cup and the foam in front of the driver, which can get a little uncomfortable over time.• I wish they had a detachable cable—if the cable ever breaks, it means replacing the whole pair rather than just swapping out a cable.That said, none of this is a deal-breaker, and I’m already looking at replacing the pads to improve comfort. For the price, sound quality, and heritage, these are an easy 5-star purchase.

long story short: they are great for the price, but the mids are scoopedIn my hands it feels to be of good quality, it feels rigid and robustIt's pretty comfortable, though the muffs are a little small for my ears which after a while can hurt, but I just have to take them off and rub my ears and then I can wear them for another hourthe cable is a long coil which means you can get a-lot of length out of it while not tripping over the wire though I believe it might be what's introducing the static noises that are present when no audio is playingI really can hear a-lot of detail in the songs I've listened to so far (restless gypsy-WASP, break down the wall-stone fury, valhalla-crimson glory and dream dancer-crimson glory) and the bass is very clear and present, the treble is ok, it's pretty clear but the mids are a bit weak, and the mid range is very important, the mid range hosts vocals, guitar solos etcthis review is in comparison to my previous headphones, roland rh5
