Everpure Ql3B Head Assy EV925924 - Genuine OEM Replacement Part

I purchased the QL3B to replace a jammed QL3. (We were unable to turn either the lock ring or the filter on the old QL3.) It's much easier to detach and attach filters to the QL3B. With the old QL3, we would typically spend a few minutes getting the old filter off and then another several minutes attaching it. There was always a moment of doubt when turning the valve back on as to whether it would work or not. Filters attach and detach to / from the QL3B in a matter of seconds.The QL3B is a simpler mechanism. It lacks the extra lock ring which was problematic in the QL3.I was able to use the connectors from the QL3 when I attached the QL3B. The only tools that I used were a pair of pliers for loosening / tightening the connectors and a pair of scissors for cutting some teflon tape. (I'm not certain that new tape is needed, but I peeled off as much of the old tape as I could and then used a small amount of new tape.)

Does not come with the two tubing fittings (inlet and outlet), likely because users have different diameter tubing, and fittings can be 90 degree elbows or straight. Buy what you need at the hardware store or online. My fittings are for ¼" OD tubing, with the outlet tube going to a drinking water tap, (also splits downstream to connect to the refrigerator ice maker). But, you may have ⅜" OD or even larger tubes. The threaded end of these fittings need to be ⅜" NPT, this end screws into the top of this filter mounting receptacle.

Other reviews said after installation and you screwed the filter in it was a loose fit and feared it would leak. I thought the same thing but when you turn the pump on it locks into place and doesn't wobble.

I also own Everpure QL3 head, and this newer version, QL3B, makes filter changes much easier, but I have a feeling that it does not hold the filter as securely as the old one. It was very difficult to unscrew the filter on the old model, but it provided a sense of a secure fit. The new head requires almost no effort at all to unscrew the filter, so I'm afraid the filter just might pop off if I accidentally touch it while working under the sink. Still, there were no leaks, so it's a 4 star product.

Defective. got the plumber to install today - lock does not work. filter falls and makes a flood! I will return for a refund! thank you. BUT this seller refuses to refund because it is just passed 30 days since purchase!

I have been in the commercial ice business have used everpure filters since they started. I installed on in my home's on the kitchen sink for many year's. Ok enough sounding like a commerial for these guy's. If you want clean water and I do this is the way to go. Do kill your filter before it's time put a small separate faucet on your sink. Yes you may need to drill a hole but it is well worth it. O h and your coffee will be so much better.
