The memory foam is of the right density but its the perfect small shape that completes the job. Ones lower thighs fit so well into the hollowed out section, and the size is not overwhelming, but just right. In my case its a hip replacement that necessitated its use, and while the op was now several months ago, and recovery progressing, I use it because I still get real aching in my hip if I don't.
