Happy Customer
I looked for quite a while at these wheelchair carriers, found this unit to be a good compromise of price vs quality. The fit and finish is not perfect but for $180 I was more concerned with how well the unit was put together, not how pretty it looked. The unit is well built, all the welds look good and solid. Assembly was quick and straight forward, only thing I would add to the instructions is a "how to" on why your asked to add a second nut to the bolt, (double nutting is a common way to lock a bolt in place) as this was not clear from the instructions. The only problem I had with my unit was with the folding pivot point. The design is actually fairly elegant, (but hard to describe), my unit was shipped with the bolt loose and this made its first installation on the vehicle very unstable or wobbly. After further inspection I realized that a piece of the carrier mount (just a pad for two adjustment bolts to land on) had been welded on a little crooked and this pad got in the way of the main bar when the unit was folded down. It looks as though they left the pivot bolt a little loose in order for the bar to clear this crooked pad. Anyway, I removed the unit, filed this pad to get it out of the way, reassembled and snugged the pivot bolt up to where it should have been, wow what a difference, this unit is very solid on the back of my vehicle. The unit has plenty of tie down points and the ramp operates quite well.

OK for my needs
I like the carrier for what I needed it for, which was basically to have extra space when lugging stuff, but I wanted something I could use to carry my husband's wheelchair when his van was s in the shop, the only thing I didn't like was it seemed a little wobbly even with the thing that was suppose to secure it or tighten it, but my brother said I might not have tightened it enough when I used it, but aside from that, it held, it's strong enough to lug his power chair and not so heavy that I can't manage it myself, (being the 5 foot 150 pound woman that I am)..I would suggest this product for others like my self who just need something for every now and then, if you need soothing more for everyday use I would suggest looking at all you options before you purchase do your research and determine what all you would need it for. ...

GREAT Product & GREAT Price
Bought this Power Chair Carrier about a week ago. Arrived in 2 days after I placed my order. This Carrier is as good as any 300.00 carrier out there and this one is about half the price. The shipping was free so my total was just at 179.00. I unpacked the carrier and looked over everything, seemed fine except for one reflector was missing. No Big deal cause you can get one and the Big Hardware store"HD" for about 1.50. Now let me say this, this unit uses a 2 inch receiver and most people will need an adapter from 1 1/4 to 2 inch or if you already have a 2 inch hitch you will most likely need an extender. Reason being is when you fold the carrier up when not in use it will either hit the bumper or will be very close so you will want to extend it a bit. But this trouble with hitting the bumper or being very close will be a problem with most any of this type carrier. This unit is made of steel and even has rubber inserts around the hole for handles, also has many holes for tie down on both sides. you can find units that are cheaper, but by the time you pay to ship it, it will cost more then this unit and I promise it won't be built any better then this unit.Eddy F. Good Price, works ok, drags against driveways and inclines
Attached to a 2007 Honda Odyssey Curtis hitch to carry a Jazzy power chair. It works fine but it extends back pretty far from the bumper before the platform starts. This puts the center of gravity really far behind the van causing it to ride low when the chair is being carried. The back edge of it drags against driveways and inclines even after putting new HD shocks on the van. Sometimes it drags going through an intersection if the cross street has a high crown. My need to transport the chair was temporary during a surgery recovery. If I had to transport the chair permanently, I'd get a model that lifted the chair and carrying platform higher.

It needs a class 3 or 4 hitch
I wish Amazon had put in the description It must have a class 3 or 4 receiver hitch. I couldn't find it in the description till I received the hitch yesterday and it was in the instructions. I don't know if I can make it work or not till I buy an adapter. Then it might be to long. It was to long 22 inches from the back bumper the rack started, and it wobbled so bad I think if you hit a bump in the road it would throw the chair out, It needs welding in some places to make it more sturdy. I have to send it back I don't trust it.

Don't be Fooled!
I looked very carefully for a wheelchair ramp that would have a folding ramp. I saw this one and ordered it. When I received it, the ramp was one long ramp. I sent it back and reordered as AMAZON told me that the company had shipped it from a third party. When I received the second ramp, it was the same long ramp. When I called the company, they were very unconcerned and told me that the pictures on the site were wrong. I felt that it was false advertising. We kept the ramp since it was so much hassel to wrap it back up (80+ pounds) and mail it back. My husband had to drill out holes that did not line-up and take a crowbar and bend and hit it in several locations in order to straighten it so the ramp would lay straight for the scooter to be loaded. The materials are cheap and the ramp is hard to load (ramp is to short which would not have been a problem with a double folding ramp) and it stands up straight when scooter is loaded. It is hard to see around when I am driving. I think this is the worst product I have ever ordered off AMAZON! I would recommend you look else where for a dependable wheelchair scooter mobility carrer Medical rack ramp. This one is junk!

Easy to put together and functional
I bought this and it came it seemed like in just days. It was very easy to put together. I use it in my lawn business so its much easier for me to load my mower. The only complaint I have is the paint on it is to thin. Its already rusting up but I will get some of that tailbed paint for trucks and paint the whole thing and it should be fine. If it had better paint it would have gotten 5 stars
