Unbelievable quality and value
Extremely impressed with this controller - at a similar price to the official Xbox controllers it is superior in practically every way.The Hall effect sticks and triggers are superb, the mechanical face buttons are incredibly satisfying to click, the build quality is noticeably better than the official controllers, the rubber grips are a nice touch, the included USB-C cable is braided, a generous length, and has a Velcro cable tie attached to it. The wired connection is also incredibly low-latency - easily one of the most responsive controllers I’ve ever used. It even has additional QOL features such as built-in audio controls, and rear-mounted mappable L4 & R4 paddles (although they can only act as a secondary input for the standard Xbox buttons - you can’t map these paddles as individual inputs unfortunately - though this is a limitation of Xinput rather than a design issue). This controller demonstrates a level of quality that even the £100+ Xbox “Pro” controllers from Microsoft hardly come close to - and for less than half the price. And to top it off, you get a month of Xbox Gamepass ultimate included for free - awesome. The only thing I would say is that it unfortunately has no wireless capability, although this is due to Microsoft’s licensing policy rather than Gamesir themselves - so can’t really fault their product for Microsoft’s nonsense.I’ve never used a Gamesir product before, but I’m thoroughly impressed with this one and it deserves all the praise I’ve seen online - Microsoft could learn a thing or two from these guys. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for something a step above the official controllers… without even having to pay extra.

very good controller.
Very good controller. Very sturdy, feels good to hold. Preferred over my xbone controllers and PS 5 controller, though id probably stick with PS 5 if native connectivity wasn't such and issue on PC, (though getting better, and steam profiles help.)

Excellent Controller but a Couple of Things You Need to Know
(Used for PC) For the price this is an excellent controller. My previous controller (Genuine Xbox) started getting stick drift after a surprisingly short time. This Gamesir model has 'Hall effect' joysticks. Standard controllers use potentiometers to relay the stick movement which have tiny contacts inside that rub against each other. These are susceptible to wear and dirt ingress. The Hall effect system uses magnetism essentially to do the same thing with no contacting parts. The buttons use proper microswitches and feel positive. Two drawbacks, if like me, you need to use a USB extension cable, not all of them work and the controller will not turn on. I tried two (one brand new and good quality) both didn't work. Finally tried an old mouse dongle extension and it worked fine. (Note the PC made the connection sound even when connecting the cables that didn't work so don't be fooled into thinking the controller is broken) Better to plug the controller directly into the PC first to check if your extension is incompatible. Secondly, the plastic housing of the USB 'C' connector in the back of the controller seems to be slightly smaller than standard so you need to use the supplied lead. EDIT:- after a bit of research it may be that the extension lead I was using may have been too long. The controller lead is 3m and my 'failed' extensions were 3m, this gives a total of 6m which is borderline for operation. The lead that did work was 1.5m shorter. It may be that to get a longer lead to work it would need to be an 'active' lead which boosts signal strength for longer distances.

5 Stars for sure. Best controller I've ever had. Review edited as even better!
Until hunting for a new controller I had no idea that hall effect sensors were a thing.I was looking to replace yet another victim of stick-drift. I must have lost ten controllers to this since the Xbox 360 came out.I was also looking for a controller with the additional assignable buttons undernetah the controller as they make great gear shifters in racing games. My Turtle Beach React-R was great until stick-drift happened (after 12 months).I'd never heard of GameSir and was skeptical, so I took a look at some YT videos before ordering...... I quickly put the order in as the only "fault" people were stating was that this controller is wired.I actually prefer a wired controller as I play in one place anyway. Batteries are a pain in the arse to me, and an additional expense, even if just charging power. The controller feels great. It didn't feel smaller to me, as some say. The G7 HE is the only one of GameSir's controllers that I consider suited to a grown-up (i.e. Black finish, no silly colours). I didn't like the G7 SE's white and green look. The HE also has a rubberised finish which feels nice all night. As for it's hall effect thumbsticks and triggers - they feel sublime after my last controller. In driving games my throttle and braking has become considerably more precise. The triggers only reach 100% AT 100% trigger, unlike any other controller I'd used. This is something I was able to quickly set up in the simple and free Xbox App. You can completely eliminate any deadzone in there on triggers and sticks. Set it how you like it. You can select "hair trigger" if shooting's your thing.Shooting in GTA just became easier with this controller too. I use free aim and whilst partially depressing the trigger, you will aim the gun without firing (R'n'G), allowing you to run about whilst aiming. Taking the trigger all the way will then fire. On my last controller I was constantly either letting off shots or dropping the gun as I couldn't accurately hold the trigger in "the zone".Finally, something that nobody ever reports on, but I find an essential quality - Sound.Nothing special, nothing nasty. It's just fine and as you'd expect.I have one controller in my cupboard that was barely used because whilst it worked just fine, when talking with others in party chat, my voice came through to others like an old 1950's reording. Tinny and cheap sounding. I'm glad to report that nobody noticed any sound issues in party chat, I sound just fine.I did notice though that using this controller, mic-monitoring was turned on by default, allowing me to partially hear my own voice in the party chat. I hate this, while some choose it. I had to turn off mic-monitoring in the party options. On the whole, this has to be the best controller I've ever used. Including a Razer, which I loved at the time but even that got stick-drift.[EDIT] Since reviewing this, I finally got fed up over the mic-monitoring issue (having to turn it off each time), so I serached for a solution. I only found others with the same issue but no answer, so I decided to try GameSir's customer service. They responded to my email within 24 hrs and included an apology for the 'late' reply with a suggestion to upgrade to the latest driver (v2.4.0). Mine was on v2.3.3 and the app said that this was up to date.Luckily, the customer service response also included manual upgrade instructions, a video and the v2.4.0 firmware update - I was able to do this on PC and it has fixed my issue. In summary, this is an excellent controller. Now with the latest firmware my only issue has been fixed and I had a first class experience with their customer service support. At this price, it's an absolute no-brainer unless you really have an issue with it being a wired controller.
