The body of the torch is solid and well constructed and coated in a black finish. The head of the torch slides backward/ forwards to concentrate or spread the beam of very powerful bright light. The spread of light at about 3 meters distance is from a box shape about 20 cm, when retracted to give the biggest spread. it goes to a flood light, it lit up the wall and the rest of the room with the reflection. There are no instructions of how to fit the batteries (6 x AAA), unscrew the end cap which is a good solid thread, this reveals two AAA battery sized holes, batteries are inserted with the negative side down then two more to fill one side, then positive side down on the other tube hole followed likewise by the other two.This basically makes a 6 battery + to - power line. The torch is fitted with two square buttons to activate the light. One activates the most powerful beam, the next button cut the light strength down by about 50% but it is still a very good workable beam. the head of the torch and battery cap are castellated, so standing the torch head down whilst illuminated will not result in flat batteries if you accidentally leave it on, as the light can still be seen. An ideal torch for the car or at home. No idea of the beam power rating if it is or isn't 600+ lumens, I do know its a great versatile easy to use and very effective device. t comes with a protective solid made pouch with a belt loop hand for fitting to a belt or utility bag.

I thought that the product would be as bad as most of the other torches I have purchased over the years, but it has proven to be really rather good. So much so, that I bought a new one for my wife too. The light output is great - as you'd expect for a CREE LED - and being easily adjustable, you can change the focus very quickly and easily to give a wider field of view, or narrow it for an extra-long throw. The consumption of battery power can be quite high, but it is rare that I need to leave the light on for more than 10-15 mins, so I find myself needing to replace the batteries every 6-9 months - we use it when navigating the darker alleyways that are filled with potholes, puddles and dog mess; indispensable.I expected it to stop working after a year or so, yet it still soldiers on. When (if?) it decides to go kaput, I will happily replace it with the exact same model, if they don't stop making it. If you are looking for such an item, get it while you still can!

Flattens batteries too fast and fades after a few minuites of use, otherwise good torch though.
