However, they come with their share of issues. The factory bulbs lack brightness, and due to the design, HID lights flicker on bumps and general road unevenness, breaking the arc that creates the light. HIDs were letdowns that I didn't know about until I owned them. These LEDs outmatch them in every way. Initial impressions of the GenXenon bulbs are great — boasting excellent build quality and a fantastic price. Unquestionably bright white, but not so bright that I thought everyone was going to flash me. The fan is quieter than I imagined too, very quiet. Very little heat is given off, and there's no UV. The installation was simple; the hardest part was connecting it because I couldn't fish more wire out of the housing. Another issue was reseating the airbox grommets, but as far as shade tree mechanics go, this was nothing. No need to take the sight shield off for the passenger side or the brace. Just take the airbox out and the rear headlight cover. The driver's side is too easy if you don't have a battery. I'm happy with my purchase, and I hope they last. If something happens, I will update! Review: Eh, they're not awful. - For HID replacement LEDs, these are decent. The brightness is very bright (at the focus point), and the color is not that blue thankfully, as I though 6000k would have been more blue. You can barely see the tiniest of blue tint in them, so that's a plus. I will say that they have do have dim spots... but that's because when you put LEDs in projectors and LEDs only emit light on the left and right side (unlike true HIDs which emit light all the way around), but the dim spots are easy to ignore. Other than that, they work well so far but I've only had them in for less than a week. But lets talk about the negatives. First thing. The heat sink makes putting them in the D5S assemblies a nightmare, they want to snag on the metal prongs that stick out and wont slide in easily. Also, the dim spots are a negative, but not that bad of a negative. Lastly, they have incredibly bright focus points, but the radial area isn't that bright (area around the center focus point). They're so bright that if you hit another person with the focus points, they're more than likely going to bright light you. Also, due to the radial area not being bright, when you engage your bright lights, it's not much brighter, so that sucks. Overall, I think I'm going to keep them for a little while, until I get my hands on some quality HIDs. If you're looking for a cheap (cost), decent quality, bright, barely blue HID replacements, then these will be just fine, but you get what you pay for. The build quality of these seem great. I am worried about the little fan inside the heat sink though, because if that's a cheap pos fan, then the blub will not last very long. I'm sure they'll last a year or so, but probably not much past that, due to the cooling / fan dying. I had an oem bulb burn out, looking like a defect in the glass tube. Used 1 of these LED bulbs to replace it, saving the other for later. The fit was perfect, taking about 5 minutes to remove and replace the old bulb. The only reason it took this long is purely due to the design of the SUV, and it’s hard for me to get my large hands into the space, and wanting to be careful. Anyway, the bulb is a bit brighter than the original bulbs, and shines a clearer pure white. It functions the same as the OEM bulbs, and was a simple swap, with no modifications or rewiring required.
