Bold, sharp, but erases just like dry chalk
When you open the caps on these markers, the felt will be "white" ... because they haven't been primed with ink. The felt tips are springy. Push the felt tip down (somewhat firmly) on a piece of scrap paper and this pushes the spring in and allows the ink to begin to flow. On a new marker, you'll need to do this a few times to get the ink flowing (and you'll know it's working when you see the tip changing color from white felt... to the color of the ink.)Once the pens are primed, they write with very clean sharp (but bold) lines. After the ink dries, it can be erased just like chalk. The markers are fluorescent under UV (or even near-UV) light. Due to the way fluorescence works... the effect will be string in colors near the red, orange, yellow, & green colors... but weaker in other colors such as blue, violet, or white. This is normal. Fluorescent materials react based on the wavelength of the light used to illuminate them. I've used these with near-UV (e.g. 405nm) and also with true UV (365nm). I have not tested other UV wavelengths.

dont do it --- too messy!!!
Priming them and storing them tip down results in leakage and goo everywhere when you pull the cap off making a huge mess. ended up just throwing them away :(

Don’t work
These don’t work. I tried to use them in my classroom and they wouldn’t write.
