Setting the time and figuring out the correct amount of food and feedings was great. One feeding equals 1/8 Cup of food. Other feeders I've had have been a nightmare figuring this out! This feeder uses a large dial, rather than buttons which are tiny and difficult to use. If you accidentaly go past the number you want, you just turn it back to what you want. It made it really nice and very easy when I needed to reset the time for Daylight Savings, soon after I initially set it up! The screen and numbers are large, which is VERY nice for the eyes and because it is not exceptionally tall, I was able to set it up on a counter under some cabinets in my laundry room. Now I didn't have to sit on the floor to make program changes, which has been WONDERFUL. My cats had a bit of a learning curve with this feeder, since they had used a front feeding, dual feeder before. They had to adjust to picking an actual side, instead of being next to each other. Since they are littermates that has never been a problem, but I can see how this new arrangement would work well for kitties that don't share as well. It holds plenty of food in a compartment that is easy to see when a refill would be necessary. The stainless steel bowls remove easily for cleaning and because they are eating smaller portions more frequently, I'm having less cleanup around the house from them inhaling their food...Definite Plus!
