Not impressed...until now, somewhat!
I was never able to get the RGB to light up although an LED attached to pin 8 does work using Arduino IDE. The schematic shows no RGB LED in it nor does it show any CH340 USB chip. I never got Serial.println working with this board. If any one has facts to change my opinion I am all ears. Lastly, the USB port was mounted a bit crooked but the connections remained soldered so I was able to flash the board. EDIT: After buying this board and not being able to get RGB LED to light I bought an Espressif C3-Mini board. I was not able to blink its RGB LED with Arduino. I hunted down an tutorial for blinking RGB LED using ESP-IDF and found one on Instructables. I followed the instructions there and was able to get RBG LED to blink on both of these boards. The appearance of the manufacturing of the board still seems a bit sloppy but the seller offered me a refund (thank you for that) after this review first posted, so that is why I gave it four stars instead of just three.

solid little device
As a hobbyist, i can never get enough of these types of devices. This one works well for monitoring the status of something that didn't come with any smart home integrations, and it seems to be working reliably.

Decent enough MCU that copies C3-DevKitM-1 pinout
It's a C3 with a "DevKitM-1" PCB layout. Good if you have an expansion board or existing project and want/need a similar MCU with plug-n-play compatibility. Other than that, it's on the pricier side for what it actually is. You can find more capable ESP32 MCU clones for less, but most likely won't have ESP32-C3-DevKitM-1 pinout compatibility. Good if you need it, better options available if you don't.

Works well
This ESP32 mini board works well. I'm using it with an MCP2512 module for CAN bus work. So far the two are working fine together and I have no complaints. You can see in the pictures, that the antenna hangs off the edge of the board and is exposed. On other minis I've seen, the antenna is within the footprint of the board, so keep this in mind when choosing a container for it.

FancyWhoop ESP32-C3-MINI-1: Basic but Capable ESP32 Board
This seems like a reasonable, albeit basic, ESP32 board. It does what it’s supposed to and is offered at a good price. However, I'm a bit disappointed that it still uses micro-USB in 2024—USB-C would have been a much better choice for modern convenience. Despite that, it’s a capable ESP32 board that should work well for most projects. If you don’t mind the older USB connection, it’s a solid option.

Handy little ESP32 board for IOT projects
ESP32-C3 mini board worked as expected. No issues while testing it out. Works with ESPHome, etc. For just a couple of bucks the price is fine since you do not have to wait 3 weeks for them to arrive from overseas and handy to have for various projects.

Compact and fully functional - easy prototyping!
I'm using this little esp32 as a simple ESP-NOW hub for a small home automation project, and I love it! It's very compact, easily powered, compatible with the Arduino framework, and affordable. There are plenty of pins to connect a few devices and a small display, and the built-in wifi antenna has more than enough range to communicate with other ESP devices around my home (about 800 sq ft.).
