Julian Taylor Women's Fit-and-Flare Strawberry-Print Dress

I almost missed this one, and I'm so glad that I didn't. I have a lot of floral patterned Julian Taylor scuba dresses that I love, but it's nice to wear something different every once in a while. The strawberry print is unique, and I like it on the blue background. Julian Taylor does a lot of white and black. It fits true to size as with all of Julian Taylor's scuba dresses. The spandex provides some tummy control if needed. The fit and flare style is actually flattering on my pear shape. It doesn't add any extra fullness to my hips and butt. I love scuba dresses, because they are machine washable and I hang them to try. They do not wrinkle, so they are good for traveling. I wish it wasn't sleeveless, but the style goes well with a cropped 3/4 sleeved shrug. It gives it that 50's look.

I own several Julian Taylor dresses, all in size 6. That's what I ordered here - but this dress in a 6 was MUCH larger than any of those others, particularly through the waist and hips. The shoulders and bust fit okay, but the rest of the dress just hung like a sack, no fit and flare shape whatsoever. And since the dress is made of heavier / thicker fabric, it skimmed my chest and just hung down from there, making it even more noticeable that the waist was about 2 sizes too large.I liked the design overall and the strawberry print is adorable, so still giving it 3 stars. I'm really hoping maybe my particular dress was just mis-tagged or a fluke factory error - because if the Julian Taylor brand has actually changed its sizing and the dress I received accurately represents how they're now cutting a size 6 "fit and flare", I'll be a very disappointed former customer.
