Don't buy this watch.
This product would be great except for a few glaring problems. 1. The PoolmateHR is obsolete. I bought this watch in January 2019 and it has malfunctioned as the screen steams up every time I use it. They will only repair not replace it, which takes weeks. This is because this product is no longer supported. 2. You can't get the old watch to work with the new software, the new software is also not compatible with the latest Mac.I would avoid this watch and this company at all costs. Which is a shame as whilst it worked it was great. The subsequent support is seriously lacking and I'm left looking to buy another £100+ watch, which I can't afford, after only 10 months.

It is not a small watch but feels very comfortable on my wrist
I have just brought this watch to give me feed back with regard my fitness, efficiency, speed etc, whilst swimming, i have used swimovate products before but would say the Pool Mate HR is a big step up from previous designs. It is not a small watch but feels very comfortable on my wrist, and I do not have a particularly large wrist. The glass face makes a big difference to the watches appearance and i have no problem wearing it as a watch. The software download and installation was smooth and the software is easy to use, quite intuitive. The watch has preformed faultlessly in the pool, giving my all the data i need and a wealth of information when the results of my session have been uploaded to my computer. I am a relatively straight forward freestyle swimmer and use tumble turns, it kept perfect track of my laps, stroke rate and even told me by vibrating after i had swum 16 lengths. I really like the way the watch can be set via the software installed on my computer you just enter personal data and time and date etc sorts itself out. Can not fault this watch.

I am very happy this watch counts the number of lengths swum.
I now find I swim more lengths. I set the watch to buzz every 10 lengths and just swim. The watch links to the chest band without difficulty and I find both quite comfortable to wear. As a result of the heart rate graphs, I have started to swim faster. Initially, I had to install the drivers using device manager; the installation software only copied the drivers to the subdirectory. I also had difficulty kick-starting the watch to charge on the pod, as it came “dead”, the solution was to keep re-launching the software. I have not had the watch long, so cannot comment on longevity.

Beware of the strap needing replacement every 14/15 months
First off I will say this is a good watch for all the basic functionality of time/date/vibrating alarm etc. It looks quite nice on the wrist and I've have a few compliments on it over the 28 months of owning it. The swimming functions I only used a handful of times and found it to be decent. The main problems were that laps were occasionally missed and the heart rate monitor would sometimes lose signal or go a bit bonkers. My main gripe with this watch is that after around 14 months the watch strap starting cracking. At 15 months it broke and I had to pay for a replacement strap. Another 14 months down the line the replacement strap is cracking again. I just don't expect a watch of this price to need a new strap every 15 months. I contacted Swimovate on this and they claimed it must be the chemicals in my pool. Powerful chemicals then seeing as it's only been in a pool a handful of times. Really disappointing company in the end.

It works so far , but no lomger on the left hand
In order to get an accurate read, I've have to wear it on my right hand.

Love it!
Love this - has made it so easy to keep track of how I'm doing in the pool. I can just let my mind go blank and it lets me know when I've completed 10 lengths.
