No C-wire needed, works well, & looks nice
Three reasons I like this product:1) C-Wire: I don't have a c-wire available. There are VERY few modern smart thermostats that claim to work without one.I first tried one of the others, the Sensi. It did not have any apparent easy way to determine in advance if it would work without a c-wire. It didn't work for me. The lack of an easy advance tool cost both of us time and money; a lose/lose. A wrote a well-deserved 1 star review of that product. This product does have a very easy tool to determine in advance if it will work without a c-wire. It took me literally 10 seconds to use that tool & be confident this would work. And, it does, in fact, work great without a c-wire.2) Functionality:It comes with a remote temp sensor which is a new thing for me and a great idea. I put mine in the bedroom. It was crazy-easy to set up and I really like the simple interface letting you choose when & how you want the thermostat to use it. It says you can add more of these if you want.Programming a daily schedule is incredibly easy as is making quick adjustments to that schedule. It has all sorts of other features such as auto-adjusting based on who is home, learning your patterns & making further auto adjustments, accepting voice commands, and so on. I do not want to use any of those things. They made it very easy for me to just say "no thanks" to all of those things and still have a nice seamless experience.3) Appearance: I hesitated to buy this product because it is round while my previous thermostat was rectangular and the wall is messed up everywhere behind the area of the old thermostat. Yes, I can patch a wall and paint it - but, no, I don't really want to if I can avoid it. It was a pleasant surprise to me that this thermostat came with an optional large faceplate that is made to cover up the bad wall in exactly my situation. I used it and it is great.Privacy is a concern but that seems to come with just about everything these days so - I don't know - just get over it?I recommend this.

A Game-Changer for Home Comfort and Energy Savings
I recently upgraded to the Google Nest Learning Thermostat (4th Gen, 2024) with the Nest Temperature Sensor, and I am absolutely thrilled with the results. This smart thermostat has exceeded my expectations in both performance and convenience.Design & AestheticsThe Polished Gold finish adds a touch of elegance to my home decor. It's sleek, modern, and looks great on the wall. The display is bright and easy to read, even from across the room, and it has a nice, minimalistic design that fits seamlessly into any space.Functionality & PerformanceThis thermostat is incredibly intuitive and learns your preferences over time. It automatically adjusts the temperature based on your habits, which means it keeps the house comfortable while saving energy. The Adaptive Eco mode is fantastic for reducing energy consumption when you're away or asleep, and the integration with the Nest Temperature Sensor allows for more precise temperature control in different rooms.Smart Features & IntegrationThe Nest Thermostat works beautifully with both Alexa and the Google Home app, making it super easy to control with voice commands or via your phone. I can adjust the temperature remotely, monitor energy usage, and set schedules—all from my smartphone. The setup process was quick and easy, and the app interface is user-friendly.Energy EfficiencyOne of the standout features is the energy-saving capabilities. After using it for just a few weeks, I noticed a decrease in my utility bill, thanks to its energy-efficient settings and ability to optimize temperature settings based on my lifestyle.Final ThoughtsIf you’re looking for a smart thermostat that combines style, convenience, and energy savings, the Google Nest Learning Thermostat (4th Gen) is the perfect choice. It not only looks great but also works seamlessly with your home’s smart system to create a more comfortable and energy-efficient living environment. Highly recommend!

Terrible - won't learn correctly or stay on (Google Home is also a terrible interface)
Bought this the day it came out excited for a Gen 4 Nest to put in a new build house. Set up seemed super easy but was too good to be true, seems it didn't "learn" properly and it stopped working correctly within 36 hours (Would read "76 cooling to 72" but the HVAC system was not actually running, just the fan). It's summer in Texas and this thermostat just does not cut it. Luckily, the house is sealed up pretty well and the insulation is brand-new or we'd sweat to death.Suffered through this for a couple days thinking it was still learning and/or updating software in the background but finally gave up, deleted everything, and started over with full setup process. Seemed to work but only for a day or so. Suffered for a few more days, hoping it would be learning or figure itself out, to no avail. Deleted everything, re-did setup, again. Worked for a couple days and then didn't, again. It also forces you to setup and interface with this thermostat through Google Home which is absolutely awful compared with the old Nest app.HVAC tech came out and said NESTs were over 50% of his calls, the unit wasn't properly telling the fan or cooling system what to do. HVAC system is a brand new 16-seer Goodman system that is super simple, no variable speed fans or equipment like that; just a solid, simple system. So it was not the HVAC equipment's fault.Since we had to wait to close on the house and then went through a couple weeks and cycles of the setup process we are outside of the return window now, so that's $400 down the drains (bought the extra sensors too, for a total of four, and only two would stay registered/recognized).Will never buy a Nest again.
