This book is perfect as it takes into account the reading skills of children this age and presents the themes in a colourful and imaginative way as required for Key Stage 1 music. It's a big plus too that you can go online and see how some of the lessons are taught and these have been especially helpful particularly if you are not used to teaching this age group. In addition to the tutor, I bought the writing book that is used alongside the piano book. I also purchased some coloured stickers, coloured crayons and some percussion instruments as these are needed throughout. Each lesson is taught with a song in a fun way, with clefs and musical notation introduced later on. So far I'm about half-way through book 1 and even though some of the examples are not relevant to children in this country, you can easily substitute other ideas. My pupil is loving it so far and has learned all the songs by heart because her Mother plays the cd in the car on the way to and from school!!
