Zigbee Presence Sensor FP1E, mmWave Radar Wired Motion Sensor, AI Spatial Learning, Supports HomeKit, Alexa, Google Home, Matter Over Bridge, Requires Aqara Zigbee 3.0 Hub

We purchased this device so my wife would know if I was in bed sleeping while she was at work. The functionality, connectivity, and compatibility made it a very easy installation and it is a dead simple way to detect the prescene in a room. The companion app allows you to really fine-tune the settings to what your perfect use case is. Excellent to ensure lights are turned off through automation when no one is in the room. The amount of smart device routines this enables feels endless.

I've been using this Aqara FP1E Presence Sensor for six months now, in fact, I bought a second unit because the first was so reliable. Setup was a breeze, and the versatile mounting options made it easy to place exactly where I needed it. What truly sets this apart is the rock-solid accuracy of its presence detection. For my home office, where I often sit still for long periods, this sensor has been a game-changer; it never fails to detect occupancy even with limited motion. It’s consistently on point, quickly responsive, and the adjustable sensitivity is perfect for ensuring it works precisely for my home's specific needs. I wasted money on a few cheaper brands before this, and none of them came close to this level of consistent, daily performance. It has been absolutely worth the investment!

Handy little mmWave sensor, but you get what you pay for. This is the cheaper version compared to the FP2. So it works pretty well but still a few small issues. Its decent for tracking 1 single person, but cant do more than 1 and doesnt do zones. Upgrade to the FP2 for more functionality. You will have to spend an hour getting the placement just right, but once its set, you can let it work. I connected mine to Home Assistant (no need for the aqara app if you have HA and Zigbee) and it works well. The only bug is at night, it does not detect sleeping that well. But for an office or living room watching tv, it works fine with subtle movements.

Fantastic little present sensor for home automation. I purchased two of these and one of another version from Aqara. I plan on purchasing more in the future. They work great for home automation for disabled family members. I've set them up to detect when they walk into the laundry room the bathroom the office and when they do it turns the lights on. As long as it detects them in there it keeps the lights on and then in the bedroom and the laundry room it turns the lights off 10 seconds after they leave and the bathroom I have it wait a minute to still run the fan. These have been fantastic for helping disabled family members

It is erroneous to say this sensor is Zigbee 3 compatible or HomeKit compatible UNLESS you have an Aqara hub. When I added the sensor by itself to my SmartThings system, it showed up as a "Zigbee Connect thing" or some generic nonsense like that. It did nothing. I thought the Zigbee 3 note meant I could use this with HomeKit through SmartThings, but no. It specifically says "Requires Aqara Zigbee 3.0 HUB " and they mean it. Once I bought the cheapest Aqara hub (around $29 when I got it), it still took some work and updating firmware to get it all working, but now it is flawless; I have a simple sensor that will turn lights off when I am not in my office. Also, I don't think this will work in “HomeKit compatible" mode in the Aqara app. I tried it, but the sensor would never pair with the hub. Then when I redid it in the Aqara app with an account (not HomeKit compatible mode), I was notified to update firmware, and things all worked. Once it was set up, it worked great. But the Zigbee 3 note is really about what Aqara hub to get, not hubs in general. So, honestly, I would recommend this if you have an Aqara Zigbee 3 hub or you just add in to the cost the extra for the USB stick Aqara hub. It's an actual "presence sensor" not just motion detection.

TLDR: get the FP2 presence sensor if you are using HomeKit or different sensor if you have any other platform instead. This is a real review of a customer who actually paid for the product. I have other Aqara products, including some of the newer releases, and my experience with Aqara has been pretty good for the most part. So it pains me to write this review. What I like: Zigbee device meaning local control, set up is pretty simple, magnetic/adjustable mount. The reason I only gave it 1 star: You have to be careful with the description Aqara is describing this as "precise detection for optimal spaces." Meaning that if you want presence detection you have to be within the range, which is 30 degrees on any direction from the middle of sensor, and no more than 3 meters (wall mounted). If you are outside that area the sensor is not as accurate and works as slow motion sensor only. So if your room is a decent size this won't be ideal for you. Aqara advertises a detection range of up to 6m ~ 20 ft I've seen people complaining about the power aspect wired vs battery. IMO this is not deal breaker; however, a fixed wire is a deal breaker. Fixed wire means placing can be challenging and you will need an extender. This can become an eyesore with wires hanging where you don't want them. also if for whatever reason your wire breaks that's it. Not to mention that now everything is moving towards USB C and Aqara is not even including the power brick... With this release it feels that Aqara is repurposing a sensor that has been available in the Chinese market for the past 3 years. Aqara get it together this is the second sensor that under delivers this year. The P2 settings cannot be adjusted and now this!

The FP1E integrated quickly and easily with my Homey Pro 2023 and without needing an Aqara hub. It does what Homey promised and everything I need. Response is much faster than going through servers since it is a Zigbee connection direct to the Homey Pro.

(Edit: 10/04/24) This month’s z2m update brought support for the FP1E. Now I have the device directly on my main Zigbee network in Home Assistant. It works great. I was easily able to pair this Aqara FP1E Presense Sensor to my M3 Hub, just followed the prompt when adding a new device. I was then able to see my Sensor in the Matter Integration that the M3 is a bridge for in Home Assistant. I set up an automation the when presense had changed from any state to clear for greater than 1 minute, to turn off the lights (if already on) in the room I have the sensor in. So far so good. I am however looking forward to when zigbee2mqtt and/or ZHA support this Zigbee device, I am very interested in seeing what is controllable/observable. I had been able to easily pair the FP1E to my z2m network, but at time of writing, it's not yet a supported device. All in all though, good sensor so far. Detects me, totally (maybe) a human, but not my cats. Setting the range of the sensor was easy too, a slidable scale within the Aqara app. And the AI/machine learning "reset" function cleared a clear room and hopefully accounted for all that it is supposed to.

Açma hızı da mükemmel. Odaya girer girmez ışığı açıyor. Tek eksisi, lux sensörü bulunmaması. Bu cihazla hareket sensörüne bile ihtiyaç duymuyorsunuz. Zigbee2MQTT'de mesafeyi de görebiliyorsunuz. Ancak dediğim gibi, AI modu Zigbee2MQTT ile gelmiyor (doğal olarak). Arkadaşım da aynı cihazı kullanıyor. Örneğin, onda hareket eden perdeye ve çamaşır makinesine nadiren de olsa tepki vermiş. Bu açıdan denemedim ama bende takılı olduğu yer klima önü. Deneme amacıyla klimayı hem soğuk hem de sıcak modda çalıştırdım ve hiçbir sorun yaşamadım. Bu cihazı alarak evinizdeki tüm ışıkları akıllandırabilirsiniz. Doğru bir şekilde yerleştirir ve yeterli sayıya ulaşırsanız, evinizde bir daha ışık açıp kapatmazsınız. Ayrıca, alarm sistemi olarak da kullanılabilir. Home Assistant dahil tüm sistemlerde çalışıyor. Ben Aqara M2 hub üzerinden tanıtıp Home Assistant'a HomeKit Controller ile ekledim. Aqara cihazlarını da Sonoff Micro Zigbee USB adaptöre bağladım. Zaten tek yaşadığım için hareket sensörleri ile ışık otomasyonu yapabiliyorum. Mantık basit: girdiğim odada ışık açılıyor, diğer odalarda ışık kapanıyor. Bu şekilde evimde ışık açıp kapatma ihtiyacı duymuyorum. Ancak misafir geldiğinde sıkıntı oluyordu. Şimdi, misafir gelince kapıdaki kamera algılıyor ve evi misafir moduna geçiriyor. Bu modda tüm FP1'lere elektrik gidiyor ve aktif hale geliyor. Böylece evde kim olursa olsun, ışıklar otomatik olarak çalışıyor. Matter veya Matter destekleyen hub'lar artık yaygınlaştı. Bu cihazı istediğiniz yerde kullanabilirsiniz. Örneğin, Hue ışıkları veya Sonoff rölelerini Matter ile Aqara uygulamasına tanıtıp doğrudan otomasyonlar oluşturabilirsiniz. Cihazı mutlaka kimsenin dokunamayacağı bir yere yerleştirin, çünkü yerinden oynatılırsa AI öğrenme modunu yeniden çalıştırmak zorunda kalabilirsiniz. Tek ve büyük eleştirim: 1700 TL'ye Black Friday'de aldım, ancak 5 gün sonra fiyat 3800 TL'ye çıktı. Avrupa’da FP2 90 Euro, FP1 ise 45-50 Euro arasında satılıyor. Arada yarı yarıya fark var, çünkü FP2 çok daha fazla özelliğe sahip bir cihaz. Ancak Türkiye'de FP1, FP2'den daha pahalı. Bu nasıl bir mantık? Fiyat neden 1700 TL’den 3800 TL’ye çıktı?

J'ai acheté ce capteur de présence pour allumer et éteindre la lumière quand j'étais dans le bureau ou dans le salon. Il fait très bien son travail il est reconnu sur Home assistant sans aucun problème le seul petit bémol c'est le câble USB qui doit être branché mais à part ça il fonctionne très bien.

Kabelgebunden und daher nicht so flexibel positionierter. Aber die Erkennung ist schnell und zuverlässig. Das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis passt. Ich nutze das Gerät mit Apple HomeKit und kann es empfehlen.

HA＋z2mで運用しています。先日のアプデでAI空間認識含めフルサポートされました。 GOOD ・検出/クリアが早く正確 ・ゴースト検出がない ・(感度:高で)静止してもクリアされない ・検出距離がZY-M100等に比べ正確 BAD ・直付ケーブルのため長さ調節が面倒 ・価格がやや高い ・検出距離の更新が高速なため、ちょこまか動く場合にzigbee通信を圧迫しないか心配 上記BADに目を瞑れば、zigbeeミリ波センサーとしては完成形と言えるレベルだと思います。
