Complete Guide to Acrylics: All the essential techniques and skills you need

This is a beautiful book in every way. I feel strangely happy even just turning the pages, because holding it is a thing of joy. The way the book has been bound, with the spine in circular motion, its exquisite. I love that it is literally step by step. You decide what to paint and it shows you every stroke. Everything about this book is magical. Truly.

A well documented and instructive manual, one of the best I have purchased to date. The only criticism I have is that it contradicts its own advice about overspending on colour options. This occurs when you compare its original list of colours and those colours proposed in the section expressing form. The additional colours proposed were not that easy to find on line. A shame as the paintings to copy were well presented. I would, however, still highly recommend this book.

A nice weight 'paperback' comes with a nice thick wipe-clean cover, I was a bit worried as I really wanted the hardcover version so it would last, but I needn't have worried, this version is fine. All the techniques are here (well, they might not be, but I guess I'll never know), and lots of hints and tips about essential kit. I love it; miss it - miss out

I am a newbie to acrylic painting and this book covers all. The chapter about equipment was very good and right now I am just consulting it with specific issues or problems I come across while painting. I find it suits me better to try first and then see whether I need advice or not. Don't think I will need another book.

This really is a great book. It provides comprehensive and easy to understand advice, tips and techniques from buying the right equipment, through colour theory and painting techniques to advice on how to photograph and sell your paintings. I've read through it once, but I'm sure I'll keep coming back to it regularly.

A great book so full of information , I have never painted acrylics so I think this is going to be a good book to teach me and get me started. Just looking at the paintings in the book gives you inspiration. Well worth buying.

I’m new to acrylics and was recommended this book by a very respected acrylic artist illustrator. I found that it covers all aspects of the media and recommend it to beginners and experienced artists.

Not much in it to teach a newbie like myself complicated pictures in it more for an expert. The only thing I found informational was how to mix colors and what certain brushes are for. So in a nut shell don't bother for a trainee
