Good, but has its annoyances.
First couple of days it worked great. Doesn't come with a 5v cable, but doesn't require it due to it being powered by a HDMI device when it is turned on. But now it will constantly switch signals out of no where, requiring me to turn it back onto the signal I was on. It's starting to get really annoying.I guess this is what you should expect for a $10 switch.EDIT: Realized it was my Wii U coming on for automatic updates that kept having the switch turn to it while I was on a different device. Turned that off and I haven't had any issues with this. I luckily had a 5V cable available and use it to avoid having to force the HDMI slot to power it. Keeping it 4/5 because it doesn't come with a 5V cable.

Potentially not worth the money spent.
Updating review:The product has a new interesting feature- randomly and for no reason, when only one of the plugged in devices is on, the switcher randomly changes from switch 1 to switch 3. Cable box was plugged into spot one, Wii U in spot three. Switched the WiiU to spot 2. switcher still kepted switching randomly and for no reason. Again for 20.00 I can't complain too much but I really don't think this product is even worth that much at this point. Now shopping for a new switcher.Bought it for a PS3, PS4 and Wii U and Comcast cable boxPS4 and 3 won't stay on unless Wii U is also on. Replaced the Wii U with my Cable box which is always on and it seems allow the PS3 and 4 to work fine. Not sure why the Playstation consoles aren't good enough to keep the switch on by themselves. WiiU and Cable box did not need a second item to be on in order to run properly.Remote it came with doesn't work, potentially shipped with a dead battery. Product also has a mysterious DC/5V port. Product does not ship with anything to plug into this port. Not sure of its purpose, since the product doesn't ship with any sort of manual either. I assume that it's for powering the switcher with only one gadget turned on, but who knows.Gets two stars only because at 20 bucks its hard to complain, I'm getting exactly what I paid for. I would not recommend this product for anyone who can afford to spend a little more on a higher quality product. If you're strapped for cash though, this is an OK option.

For older HD Tv's
So,I have several gaming consoles and a bluray that I wanted to hook up, but I have an older lcd tv that only has 1 hdmi port. I was tired of switching between hdmi cords and needed a simple solution. Luckily, I came across this awesomely cheap switcher. At first, I thought the Switcher was missing the DC power cord due to there being a port on the side for one. I was relieved when I found that the device gets it power from the HDMI cords. The remote is....simple. I'm hoping to find a universal remote that can recognized that signal, because I may lose the little bugger., or get tired of having separate remotes (first world problems)I suggest mounting the switcher to the back of your tv if possible, otherwise the cords may be jumbled and messy. But the device gets the job done. It's cheap. It works. It upgrades

Works well, and the price is right.
We have a small TV in the bedroom which only has a single HDMI input. This wasn't a problem at first because all that was connected to it was an U-Verse receiver, but over the last couple of years we've added a DVD player and an Apple TV to the room. Tired of moving the HDMI cable to the correct device, I decided to find an inexpensive switch that would do the job for me. I figured at $10 I couldn't be too disappointed. I was pleasantly surprised instead. This product works well and the remote control is an added bonus. Powering the switch isn't required as it pulls power from the attached HDMI devices. Powering on a device automatically triggers the switch to activate the connected port. If I ever need another HDMI switch I will definitely buy this one again.

Fantastic price, works great!
Wow! I always love inexpensive and effective accessories. The EnjoyGadgets 3-Port HDMI Switch does exactly what it says it will at a really cheap price.I did not need an external power supply, power is supplied from the attached HDMI devices. There are no cables so make sure you plan accordingly, after revamping my AV system last year, I had several spare HDMI cables around. You will require one HDMI cable from the Switch to the monitor/TV/etc and one cable from each device to the switch.I've attached this to a Samsung LED monitor to attach my desktop, laptop and Chromebook. The Chromebook was more because I could but this allows me to have one station where I do all my work, plug in one cable to my laptop and Chromebook and I can use my 27" monitor for whatever I need to.

Surpassed my expectations
I had read the reviews for this item and how it did not come with a power adapter and was skeptical. When I first plugged it in and it didn't work, I thought "Great, the negative reviews were right...", but then I decided to try it with an input to it and was I ever delighted to see the little blue light come on. The remote controls the device well from across the room and the switch has an automatic detect. What I mean by that is it will output from my U-Verse box until I turn on my XBOX and it automatically switches to output from the XBOX. Once the XBOX is turned off, the output goes back to the U-Verse box. Holy Smokes! I never knew I could get such joy out of something so trivial.tldr: Worth every penny.

the remote is the most useless remote I have ever seen whilst still technically being ...
It does what it's supposed to. However, the remote is the most useless remote I have ever seen whilst still technically being functional. You have to be about 18 inches away from the IR receiver for it to work. And if you're that close, you really can just press the button. So that's a slight annoyance, but the switch itself works fine with solid picture quality on all channels.

Good, but Missing a Key Item: The Remote's Power Supply
Overall this product is good value for the money. It will allow you to insert multiple HDMI cables into one source so that you don't have to constantly swap the cables if, like me, your TV only has one HDMI port.I've seen several reviewers say they had issues with the quality of this product, namely that it breaks or doesn't work out of the box. I personally haven't experienced any issues of that sort. Mine came in some bubble wrap and happened to be shipped with another, larger product I ordered, so it was in a nicely packed and cushioned box. I'm not sure if this would be the case if it was shipped on its own.Why I have to bump this product down a few stars is that it's missing one key item: the 5volt adapter/power supply for the remote. Without it, the remote is useless, which necessitates having to get up and push the switcher's buttons by hand. This isn't the end of the world, but I'm sure many people, like myself, bought the switcher with the hope that they wouldn't have to get up and switch it manually. A 5volt adapter isn't expensive, but I think I speak for a few reviewers when I say that I would have happily paid a few dollars more to have an adapter included. To not include one is a cheap cop-out, since it will ultimately leave the buyer with more purchasing/shipping costs or force them to go to an electronics/hardware store to buy one.To sum up: the product works fine for me, but I feel like the company is cheaping out by not including a power supply for the remote. If you are thinking of buying this product, be sure to compare the overall cost of this switcher PLUS a separate adapter with another, similar product to see if it's cheaper to buy another product from a company that includes a remote power supply.

Great deal! Works fantastically :)
This worked excellently for my older projection Samsung TV! I had the APPLE TV and the Chromecast plugged into this device. I wanted to wait to write this review until I had least used it for a month. Out of using it every day - only twice while I was watching the Apple TV did it randomly switch to the Chromecast (I think the Chromecast must have restarted for an update). I just hit the correct button on the remote and it went right back to the Apple TV. This may be a problem for gaming, but to watch shows or movies it was not a bother at all. It was not a problem to have both of these plugged into the switch at the same time and have one in "standby mode" while I am using the other device. Also, for all the reviews out there that say you need a power source - you do not! I took this out of the box and the only thing I did need to purchase was an HDMI cable to run from the TV to the switch (as I did not have an extra laying around, nor did one come with the switch)The remote worked just fine, I did have to point it at the switch more directly (I know some remotes for TVs you can point at any wall and it will still work)So for the price, this was an absolutely amazing deal, and I would recommend it for sure.

Works well but will not work with some devices without a power supply.
I have an older Sony LCD TV that only has one HDMI port that is connected to a Sony Blu Ray player so when I recently bought a Wii U for my kids I needed another HDMI port, preferably something not too expensive since when I upgrade the TV it will have all the HDMI ports I will need. I ordered this inexpensive HDMI switch based on the mostly positive reviews on Amazon. After connecting the Blu Ray and Wii U and switching the Blu Ray on, the TV screen just flashes with a few horizontal lines every few seconds and the blue LED on the switch flashes on and off. It is only after switching the Wii U on that the TV works normally. It seemed odd that I had to have 2 devices on just so that the TV will work properly as this is totally inefficient. After some research, I discovered that some devices do not supply enough power to the HDMI port to use with some HDMI switches. This switch does have a connector for a 5VDC power supply but its not included. I actually had a 5VDC adapter from another electronic device so plugged it in and the TV worked normally without the Wii U also being on. The blue LED light on the switch also stopped flashing. So be aware that this switch may not work with some devices without a power adapter.Another quirk with this switch is that it switches to the other connected device seemingly randomly even when the other device is off and you have to switch back, either manually or with the remote. It took me a while to figure out the problem but I noticed that the device switched anytime the LED light on the Wii U went from red (off) to yellow (standby). The Wii U downloads updates while it is off (yellow LED) so this would explain the switching. The 2 page "manual" (only contains a few instructions) wasn't much help but it does say that "When the source devices are on the stand-by mode, its power supply should be turned off, otherwise this switcher cannot meet intelligent function". It appears that the auto sensing circuitry senses power from the Wii U and it switches. This can be really annoying during a movie.A final thing to watch out for is that the infrared receiver for the remote only works if it is placed correctly. There is nothing in the manual that talks about this but the receiver must be placed flat side down with the flat end pointing out towards you. If its just hanging, it won't pick up the signal from the remote unless you are about 1 foot away.So overall this switch does work but the user manual is really poor at explaining things like when you would need a power adapter and the seemingly random device switching and the receiver orientation for the remote control. If you are sure that your devices all have enough power through the HDMI and that they don't have a standby mode (I think most gaming consoles download updates while the system is off) then you will have no problem with this switch. If you have devices that go into standby mode and switching in the middle of watching a movie really bothers you, then you should look for something that either does not auto switch or get something with more advanced auto switching circuitry, probably a lot more expensive though. Now that I know the quirks of this switch, I am happy since it is relatively inexpensive and works well. Picture and sound quality are excellent. But just be aware of the devices you are connecting to it as it will autoswitch between devices if some of your devices have a standby mode. Would really be frustrating if you are playing an online game and it switches to another gaming system or your PVR.Jan 5 update: I didn't realize that the seller also sells the same switch that includes a 5V adapter for $1 more (product ID EGHS3SAC). I sent the seller an email to see if I could pay the difference to get the power adapter and they replied within 15 minutes saying they would send me a free adapter! Great customer service. I would recommend just spending another $1 to buy the switch that includes the power adapter to avoid any issues with underpowered devices.

Great Vendor - Not so Great Product
First off - the vendor was great for delivery and handling the ultimate return so do not hesitate to order from them! But for this product - I'd pass if I were you. Despite other reviews I thought maybe it would be OK. But it is indeed unreliable and does not switch inputs properly, sometimes not even switching to a valid input at all. Auto-switching is not particularly "auto" and even manual cycling of the HDMI inputs may or may not work (remote or on device). Also, on a minor, non-functional point - while it is good to have status lights, this little fellow over does it with the LED intensity making it problematic at night. Too bad - could have been a good little product.

Better than expected and a pleasant surprise!
I did not expect very much when I ordered this but was pleasantly surprised! I could not expect any more for the price. I would have been happy with just the switch but the small included remote pushes it over the top. Sure it may not be the most responsive remote in the world, but it works fine once you orient the IR receiver to pick up the signal. If I could change anything about it, it would be to integrate a HDMI cable into the switch. But again, for the price it seems really petty to complain about it. Right now I have my Blu-ray player, my Xbox and occasionally my laptop connected through this box and it works great. I would not hesitate to recommend it to friends.
