Dream Catcher

Ron Allen is so musically talented! I am a massage therapist in a very busy resort spa that actually uses CD players. I have purchased two CDs by him, and both have an amazing completely different sound. Very happy with my purchases!

When we were on vacation in the Four Corners area in 1996, I picked up this cassette tape in a shop and we had it as our "car music" for the entire trip. It was fantastic. I was so glad to find it again on Amazon. Beautiful synergy of flutes, drums, and other effects. I like that the various tracks are based on the ancient seasons of the year as well. Each track is very evocative of that time of year.

I haven't been this pleased with a CD in a long, long time. Ron Allen is truly a master of the Native flutes, and the way it is woven with world instruments is quite breathtaking. I plan to purchase several copies as gifts. Hats off to Ron Allen! Thank you for a truly soulful, uplifting album!

Title says it all. This album is perfect. I grew up listening to it and I was ecstatic to find it again after losing that original copy. GET IT. NOW.

Ron Allen's music is incredible and so inspiring. It makes me feel good to listen to his genius at work.

Had this cd when i was a child. Being that im native american, ive heard many flutes in my time, this artist is on top.

Dream Catcher（1995）"Thomas Walker"の別名も持つカナダのジャズ管楽器奏者"Ron Allen"の、ネイティブ・アメリカン・ミュージックをモチーフとしたアルバム。世界中の民族音楽の笛に精通しているとのことで、日本の尺八の名手でもあるとか。ほとんどが、笛とパーカッションに控えめなアコースティック・ギターと女性コーラスが絡むだけの素朴な編成で、"Sacred Spirit"より、エレクトリック色が少ない分、地味ではあるが、味わい深い、心に染み入るヒーリング・ミュージックである。ジョン・コルトレーンや ファラオ・サンダースの民族音楽的な部分を、アンヴィエントに発展させた形とも言える。日本ではどのぐらい知られているのかは知らないが、もっと聴かれてしかるべきであろう。
