No, it's not just soap! It's a tiny handmade luxury in a plasticized, Costco-size world... that smells heavenly. I really love these soaps.The fragrance is delicate and polite and fresh, and makes tiny little surprise olfactory appearances throughout the day, instead of overwhelming you with yet another layer of laboratory scent that has to compete with all the others. Even my dog seems to like this one.I don't know all the hoopla about artisan soaps made by soprano virgin elves in Narnia, but the packaging is lovely on this, kind of like unwrapping a springtime Jacquie Larsen greeting card. And the soap is firm and comfortable in the hand, and frankly... lasts forever. I'm using a round cake of it now because Amazon was out of the bigger bars, but: that first bigger bar I bought at the very beginning of CovidTime in March lasted well into November! And I DID take a lot of showers this year, despite our radically changed pandemic-dictated social opportunities.I prefer the bigger oblong bar to the round one, although the soap is just as lovely either way, and both seem to be very long-lasting with the lovely light scent. Amazon was out of the bigger bars so I will muddle though for now. These two round numbers may last the rest of my life anyway, so maybe I won't need to hope the 'ZON gets the bars back in stockBasically- life is too short not to use nice soap that makes you smile and think of England every time you scrub-a-dub-dub.

I did not find the scent to be too strong. Nice lather. Box is cardboard. Soap nice size . Not the best for gifting. More of a personal use. Nothing fancy about it.
