Absolutely delicious! So smooth!
I was so curious to try this coffee because of the blueberry flavor! I didn't even have a coffee grinder yet but bought one after the coffee arrived. In general, I'm used to pretty inexpensive, ground coffee, but I tend to be a coffee snob because there's certain cheap brands that I just won't drink. I also take my coffee black 90 percent of the time. This is definitely worth trying and one of the most expensive coffees I've had. You can absolutely tell that it's a quality product and this is one of the smoothest coffees I have ever tasted! The blueberry aroma is fabulous, the smoothness and richness of the flavor is really delicious. I definitely didn't get any bitterness. I can actually taste the blueberry in it, which I love! Grinding it fresh each cup is absolutely the way to go. I've been brewing single cups and I don't think that I would make a full pot with this. Though I think it would be wonderful in my french press. Honestly, I really didn't want to like this coffee because of the price, but it's definitely better than all of the coffee I currently have on hand. However, I can't justify spending that much on a single bag of coffee! So if I ever get another bag it will be for a special occasion.

Why would you dark roast Nicaraguan coffee
I have mixed feelings about this coffee... and I'm not entirely sure that I believe the claims made on this page. The main issue stems from the fact that they claim this is a single-origin Nicaraguan coffee, but don't list the farm or even the region it's from, just that it's grown at an elevation above 5700 feet. For those unfamiliar with Nicaragua... the elevation isn't that high throughout most of the country. In fact, so few mountains reach that kind of height in Nicaragua that you can probably figure out where this farm is located based on that alone; I'm betting on the northern end of Nueva Segovia, up near the Honduras border. You'd expect farms around there to mostly be growing Caturra, but I guess even specialty coffee regions still grow Arabica. The confusing part is what they've done to this coffee after it leaves Nicaragua. The entire reason you buy a single origin coffee is to enjoy the distinctive flavors the growing environment imparts on the beans, and in the case of a Nicaraguan coffee, you can expect it to be fruity, juicy, somewhat grapefruit-flavored, and with just the right amount of acid at a medium or medium-light roast. Some roasters even exclusively do a light roast on Nicaraguan coffees just to preserve the acidity, as it pairs so well with the flavor. So, why would they take a specialty single-origin coffee that lends itself to lighter roasts... and French roast it? Not only that, but add blueberry-flavored oil? If you're going to go this far to cover up the original flavor profile of the beans, why even use a nice coffee? As much as I love Nicaraguan coffee, I'm having trouble enjoying this. It's just so confusing. Assuming they're telling the truth about the coffee's origin and growing conditions, it just feels like they don't know what they're doing.

Great Flavor, but Acidity?
I really enjoy the flavor of this coffee. The body is smooth and doesn’t immediately send me to the bathroom so it is easy ok sensitive stomachs. In terms of taste however, this is advertised as low acidity. Maybe it’s just me, but I get A LOT MORE acidity out of this coffee than I do my normal dark roast.Price seems a bit high since it was still fairly acidic. If you get a Subscribe and Save deal, it’s a bit easier to swallow. However good the flavor was I don’t think I would reorder based on price and acid content.

Super Good Smelling But Bitter
When you open the bag or even squeeze it to vent air the blueberry smell is very strong and is lovely! When you brew it, you taste the blueberry but not the mocha as much, the blueberry kind of overpowers it all. But aside from that, it is super bitter! At first I thought I over brewed it or had the water too hot but it still came out very bitter even with cooler water and a shorter brew time. Disappointing since it seems like a good ethical source but that's meaningless if you can't enjoy the coffee itself.

Five star flavor for a price
The value proposition here is not very strong, as it is substantially more expensive than many coffee beans that are comparable in quality. But these beans do have a richness and smoothness that others will not, or that you will have to put strong effort to find. Beans smell amazing and fresh as soon as you open the package. Taste is strong and full, with some faint but present taste of blueberries. Tastes like it is not very sour or acidic, quite smooth too. I would recommend to try it but if you are looking for the best quality for the money beans I would look elsewhere too (note the too).If I could I would give a 4.5 stars as I’m not confident it deserves a full 5 but it is better than 4 so. Seems about right and fair to me

Blueberry mocha coffee
Of the many coffees I have tried, this is the first one where the flavor profile really stood out. The blueberry flavor was very distinct, and somewhat overpowered the natural coffee flavour. I did not really notice the mocha flavor, but it may have enhanced the overall flavor profile a little.Over all, I did not really enjoy this as a morning cup of coffee. The blueberry flavor and after taste was just a little too much and did not come across as natural flavouring. I will stick to something a little more traditional for morning. I could enjoy this as an occasional afternoon cup of coffee, but not something I could drink daily. The beans seemed fresh, and the freshly ground coffee smelled really good. The listing indicates dark roast, but did not have the bitterness that is often typical of a dark roast. I would compare it more to a medium dark roast. If you really enjoy the natural taste of coffee, this might not be for you. But if you enjoy the flavored coffee, this one definitely has a distinct flavor that I am sure some will enjoy.

Addicting
This is maybe the fastest that I've ripped through a bag of coffee. The blueberry notes come through in taste and smell, making it the perfect pair for blueberry muffins, scones, pancakes, waffles, etc. It's not as good iced as hot in my opinion, but your tastes may differ from mine.
