Z-Wave Switch Plug for Type G - 500 series TKB Home

These are an affordable, zwave plus capabe socket. Works out of the box with Samsung smartthings and appears to have a decent range.The light on the front of the device is also the on/off switch. This is illuminated when switched off (so you can find the switch in the dark if you connect this to a lamp etc). However with the right device handler setup on smartthings you can choose to have this inverted so that the light is off when the socket is off.This versions does NOT report power usage, so if this is important for you, choose the alternative from TKB69E.I happily used several of these over the Christmas period to control both outdoor and indoor lights on timers setup in smartthings. Never missed a beat.Shop around for best pricing, but this device is an excellent simple zwave socket.

This plug is not worth the money. I have it connected to my piper, and, apart from arriving with a massive burn mark on the side, has a very unresponsive button that fails to work 9 times out of ten. Not impressed.

I've got four of these, 3 of which have been in use for about a year now. My only concern is that the last one, bought via Amazon only lasted a month before failing. It was only being used to switch a table lamp, so I may just have been unlucky. As always though it was easy to return it for a refund.

Just a note of advice, this device does NOT report on power usage, unlike the TZ88E model. When searching for the TZ88E the TZ68E is the only result which appears so I wonder if it's discontinued.I should be clear, this product does work for the purposes of switching an electrical load on/off remotely however that's about all it does, without the added functionality of the power reporting, it's considerably less "intelligent" about what you and your control system can know about it.For instance, if you want to have it constantly on but only know when power is being drawn (i.e. when the TV is on vs when it's on standby), this socket won't be able to tell you.A decent product but consider if you could get more for your money. Also, I can recommend TKB - I only have one other product of theirs which is solid and I've never had a problem with it.

This is a great Z-Wave Switch that works straight out the box with Samsung SmartThings. Pairing is very easy and it has worked perfectly since installation. The default light is a little weird as the light is on when the device is off and vice versa. Apparently this can be changed but I haven't bothered yet.I will be purchasing more of these rather than the official SmartThings plug.

I have had 2 of these plugs, after a few months, 1 stopped working. Now a few months further on the 2nd one has stopped working.

Works as desired. Makes a small noise on activation but acceptable and nice that you can easily adjust default light setting.
