Why this is not good for pvc pipe ?

PVC pipe does not have the same dimensions. Also, the knobs on the side are made for wood and do not always allow for a good fit. If you want to install one of these on a PVC duct for a furnace I suggest a termination vent like this - https://ventmastersstore.com/collections/pvc-termination-vents/products/3-round-pvc-termination-vent
