Pricey but perfect for the job
This is one of the cases where you do get what you pay for - many people do not know that the tiny screws on most japaneese and chinees imports are actually Japan Industry Standard heads and do not fit properly onto either Phillips or Posidrive drivers! As these screws are often very soft the result of using the wrong "driver" isfrequently a stripped head and an a stuck screw,

... Japanese cameras - they fit the screw heads much better than the common Philips screwdriver
These are the correct screwdrivers for use on Japanese cameras - they fit the screw heads much better than the common Philips screwdriver, and greatly reduce the chance of damaging the screw head.

Difficult to find
Awkward to get hold of JIS screwdrivers so this is very useful. Expensive when you add in the postage.

JIS #00
This precision screwdriver incorporates Moody's 'fixed ESD-safe handle (short)' and is officially designated as having a tip size of 2.0mm (which is equivalent to JIS #00, being Moody stock number 51-2064). Here's what I consider to be the pros and cons:PROS:+ The JIS tip feels tough and appears to have been precisely machined to size+ This screwdriver is 12cm long (mostly accounted for by the handle), with a metal blade length of 3.0cm+ It's certified as being ESD (electrostatic discharge) safe+ The screwdriver is headed by a 1.7cm wide (black) rotating pommel - for fast two-handed operation+ Moody offers a lifetime guarantee on all its toolsCONS:- When you factor in delivery costs, the UK purchase price seems quite high- I can live with the garish green colouring, but the plastic itself is hard to the touch (not cushioned or rubberised) and feels a bit 'cheap and nasty' when compared to some of Moody's (German) rivals- The screwdriver is inscribed (in tiny lettering) with its metric tip size...but NOT the equivalent JIS size: strange!- The tip isn't magnetisedIn conclusion:If your product has been made in Japan or Eastern parts, it's almost certainly been fastened together using JIS screws - and you will therefore need the appropriate JIS screwdriver to unfasten them properly and safely. If you try using a Phillips head screwdriver to loosen a stubborn JIS screw, you're courting disaster and will probably end up stripping the head - and ruing the day! This particular screwdriver from Moody Tools will certainly do the job (at a price) and is therefore a recommended buy.
