BlendMate Paints Great
I was admittedly skeptical about this purchase. In fact, I put off using it for several months just being a little afraid of what kind of mess it would make of my bullnose corners.I finally got up the nerve to give it a try and the results are great. What's even better is that my wife actually likes it!We've seen people around our area paint the straight line down the bullnose corner. If the paints are reasonably close in shade, it's not that big a deal. However, for significant paint shade transitions, those treatments just seem to be glaring to me.The BlendMate gives a very gradual paint transition that you don't notice. It really does blend. Our walls went from a medium tone brown to a soft yellowish cream at the bullnose corners. With the straight line method I used at first, it just constantly drew your eyes to that transition. The blended look, in my opinion, is far better. It took only a little bit of practice to get a good feel for the tool. Once you get the feel of how much pressure to use, how slowly to roll, and how much paint to squeeze in at a time, everything goes very well.I would definitely recommend this painting tool. I cleaned it up really well after use because I expect to use it in the future.

Excellent...Tricky
ALL of the corners in our new house are bull nose, which is fine as it creates a really nice "refined" feeling. We painted most of the walls a creamy yellow. When we got to our fireplace wall I wanted something different. The fireplace is a white pitted stone type thing and the yellow would just wash out with it. So I found a lovely dark taupe to frame it. But then there's the niche in the wall above that so I went two shades darker to a deep mocha in there. The blend mate blended the bull nose edge of the niche beautifully. It's seamless and almost unnoticeable. Which I love. Then I used that taupe going up the stairs to contrast the white trim on the stairs. That wall meets a yellow wall in the living room so again to the Blend Mate. The corner itself is lovely. The taupe did not overpower the yellow as I feared. However, some of the taupe managed to get all the way to the far edge of the yellow roller and now I have this lovely streak up the wall. Kinda looks dirty. So now I have to do touch up and try again. Then to the dining room which is a deep red with an arched entry meeting the yellow. This was just awful. We are going to have to try again. The red totally overpowered the yellow and created this awful pink/magenta.I have faith that this thing works and that it will give me the effect I want eventually. I know it just takes time to get the technique right. But oh boy it gets frustrating sometimes and you just need to walk away and try again. The more I tried to fix the pink problem, the worse I made it. I don't know. I wish BlendMate could give me a tip or something to help save my sanity on this dining room.Overall it is worth it. Just be patient.

I'm actually pretty good at painting
Yeah... this was a complete fail. I'm actually pretty good at painting, but I thought I'd give it a try to make my life easier. Nope. The colors simply mixed so I had white paint on one side, blue paint on the other, and light blue through the middle. Useless. I threw it away.

Good Idea, But I'll Stick To Freehand
The idea seems great, however it doesn't work 100% great. Maybe much practice is needed. :)

The blendmate works well enough but is still not a perfect solution. The paint tend to roll on in spurts rather than smoothly, causing the user to go over the corner repeatedly.

Easy solution for rounded, bullnose corners!
I watched the video of this product in action. The paint colors used in the video were very similar, and I was concerned that I might not have the same results. My paint colors are a muted rust (Olympic Amaretto) in one room and light beige (Behr Almond) in the other. I decided to give it a try, and I'm glad I did. I used it for an arched doorway and an arched opening above my kitchen cabinets. It is definitely "blended"...not a distinct difference in the 2 colors. After finishing the doorway, I moved to the smaller arched opening. Then I went back over the doorway...because I finally got the hang of it! The BlendMate was easy to use and easy to clean up. I would suggest practicing on paper held up or taped around a rounded (bullnose) corner. Great tool!

The best painting tool ever!
This tool is awesome! My husband and I are painting our interior as every wall and surface was one singular color - cream. Blech! We had a huge dilemma with our rounded corners as to where to stop the paint when painting two different colors in adjoining rooms. We were searching videos on YouTube and came across this handy tool. We figured “Why not? It can’t hurt to try it” and we are so glad we did! It works great and creates an awesome blend between colors. We both hated the stark line which is the traditional way of handling switching colors with rounded corners and what a pain to have to tape everything just perfectly!I agree with other reviewers that it helps to practice and get the feel of it before doing it on your corners. One challenge we encountered was dealing with the ends where the rounded corner meets a wall or a trim piece. I just used my fingers to blend the colors and get close to the wall. It’s not ideal but worked just fine. We’ve used it from a tan to a white ceiling, and from a tan to a blue. Both look great. We don’t have any colors that are really bold and all are the same “tone” so should work just fine when blending. I can see how going from a red to a yellow may be more challenging, as others have described. So far, we are pleased with the purchase and think it's worth the money!
