It clogs the pen easily. You can easily wash it off with warm water and it will peel like a skin but I have had zero luck when it comes to fountain pens and this ink. **Q: If I erase will it smear** A: I'm my experience, no, but I do a lot of inking on blue line or with a light pad. When I do ink over pencils I tend to wait at least ten minutes before erasing. If you want an ink that is sure to not smear when erased, I think the DELETER black no. 2 is the one you want. **Q: Can this ink do ink washes?** A: Yes, it's as good if not better than any other India ink. **Q: What is everyone using to apply it? This is cheaper than ones with applicators. A small brush maybe? Recommendations?** A: Yeah a small brush works, on its own it's too thick to use with anything else but you can dilute it with water in order to use it with pen nibs or as fade effect on watercolor as well, bare in mind this is a VERY white tone so if the paper you're using is yellowish it will look a bit out of place ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ No. 4 - Very black, resists most copics well. Dilute! *by on Reviewed in the United States March 28, 2024* My review is a very niche use: I use this - Deleter Black 4 - in an ackerman pen, which is a specially-designed fountain pen made to use dip nibs and handle drawing and dip inks. It must be said that you should NOT under any circumstance use this in a normal fountain pen! This is for dip pens, brushes, and other devices specifically designed for dip inks! That said, it's a a VERY thick ink, so you MUST dilute it for use in an ackerman if you don't want to get one of the larger feeds. And it requires watching, as it dries on the nib rather quick. I use about 1 part water to two parts ink for the Tachikawa Manga G, other nibs may vary. Keeping water and paper towels nearby for cleaning your pen is also essential, but thankfully it does easily clean if a clog occurs. For other uses I imagine you'd dillute it to the consistency required by your project and chosen pen nib.For the paper I use - neenah exact index 110lb - once dry it resists most copics pretty well as long as you are not scrubbing at it, although a few cause a slight haze. This might be more of an issue on slicker papers where more of the ink sits on top of the surface, or if you do heavy blending for marker-painting. But for drawings where you will be just cel shading and drawing with copics, it works well. For drying, it's relatively quick when applied thinly (like you would with a pen), but in large amounts it can take quite a while, and goes matte before it's fully touch-safe. You cannot visibly tell if the ink is wet or not, you have to simply wait longer than you think. Additionally, it has a tendency to seep through paper really easily if you spill drops of it, so heavier applications of it with a brush might require special consideration. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great ink for a new artist *by on Reviewed in the United States June 14, 2026* I just started drawing with a dip pen, so my knowledge is limited, but this ink is working great so far. The ink is a nice black, flows well, and leaves a really pleasing mark on the page. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ As described, nice ink *by on Reviewed in the United States May 21, 2026* It’s nice and resistant, good for inking, not too easy to use for beginners, but it works well, it’s not the cheapest but it’s a decent price for the amount you receive, you might have to learn to dilute it for the consistency to work best. ## Frequently Bought Together - Deleter Matte Black Ink, Versatile Marker & Water Proof, 30ml/Bottle, 1 Bottle (341-0005), 1-Pack - Tachikawa Comic Pen Nib Holder(T-40) + Zebra Comic G Model Chrome Pen 10 Nibs(PG-6C-C-K) x2 Set - DELETER Comic Book Paper, 9.84 x 13.9 (B4), A --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.be/products/6435464-deleter-matte-black-ink-versatile-marker-and-water-proof-30ml](https://www.desertcart.be/products/6435464-deleter-matte-black-ink-versatile-marker-and-water-proof-30ml) --- *Product available on Desertcart Belgium* *Store origin: BE* *Last updated: 2026-10-28*
