Great, well-organized information!
Lots of great information, organized in an easy-to-use manner. Also, the herbs included are common and easy-to-find. I've ordered several herbal books, and so far this is my favorite one. Highly recommend this book!

It needs more recipes !
I started to read the book and the first pages of the plants description have section with color , I found hard to read small print and with the color its hard to read. Itβs a nice book but to much informations on the soil type the different containers the kitchen tools just get to the point . I am at reading the recipes and I am not finished yet . I expected a little more recipes thatβs what I was looking for in a book . Not how to grow a plant the access of the internet can give you all this information . I will definetely keep this book for reference but I definetely add more to my repertoire . If you are looking for a lot of recipes this is not the book .

Great pictures and information
For the price and size this is quite a nice book The picture quality inside have the heavier glossy pages which make the pictures and descriptions so much better. Only thing better; be there in the kitchen with them (: Christopher Hobbs is a broad herbal background, interesting speaker and herbalist. Great purchase if you are thinking to grow and make your own herbal remedies.Kayleen, Nurse Practitioner, graduate of a 3 year herbal program.

Well written!
This book is easy to read and very comprehensive. It tells you now to grow, harvest, and use herbs. It covers some of my favorite herbs, ie., yarrow, St Johns Wort, comfrey, lemon balm, calendula, chamomile.....and many more. I made several herbal syrups from their recipes. These will be comforting and healing through our coming winter.....which is predicted to be a very cold winter.I recommend this book to all herbalists.....beginners especially....because it tells you from beginning to end.....how to use herbs for healing.

Truly a great book to own if you are interested in medicinal ...
Mr. Hobbs led a walk, identifying plants, for the foraging group I am in and is just a storehouse of knowledge. I purchased this book after the walk, due to all of the valuable information stored in it. Truly a great book to own if you are interested in medicinal plants.

An excellent, practical guide to herbal remedies
I had been looking for a while for a book that balanced herbal healing with a down-to-earth approach when I purchased 'Grow It, Heal It', and I think this book fits the bill. It brushes on the spiritual and traditional history behind some of the herbs, but remains grounded in their practical application, and also mentions wherever scientific testing has been carried out on a particular herb. The book is divided into logical sections - Know It, Grow It, Make It, and Heal It - carrying you through the entire process of turning a herb from your garden or windowsill into a tea, salve or tincture. The Kindle preview of the book does not really do justice to what the hard copy looks like on the inside - plenty of good photographs, and colour, with a modern layout that makes it interesting to read. It is written in a straightforward way that makes it ideal for beginners, and contains numerous reference charts detailing what parts of the herb you can use, for what purpose they are used, where they grow, how to grow them etc. As it is not a large book it doesn't contain information about every medicinal plant under the sun, but the 'Know It' section manages to profile 50 of the most commonly used and researched herbs, and the recipes at the back also allow for flexibility for people who use herbs that are not in the A-Z section. I think this book would also be useful to more experienced people as a reference guide, and for those who are thinking of growing their own ingredients - the 'Grow It' section has a lot of useful tips, and each plant profile has growing instructions too, along with the typical information about what it looks like and its properties. My only criticism of this book would be that there are not as many recipes in it as I had imagined, but this is because a lot of the recipes are designed to be customised by the reader, depending on their preferences, which I like. I think this is better in many ways to the typical 'recipe book' format, as it teaches you to think for yourself and understand which herbs to use in any given situation - good for people who enjoy being self-sufficient. All in all, I am very glad I bought this book.
