Avenir AMD166 Rear Carrier - Black

All round pretty good for the price. It's not 100% quality-wise (the spring clamp popped out on one side when first tried).However when fixed,fitted and "tweaked" it's fine. Light, fairly rigid and useful. 3 different fittings give a range of options of where to fit the front mount. Rated at 9 kgs that might be optimistic but it should hold most bike luggage easily enough.

This is sturdy and finished well for the price. I needed a rack for my daughter in law's Pashley which had a rusty chrome one. The latter are very expensive and I found this one, fitted it, with some modification because the Pashley frame is not a standard width (it has rod operated brakes so the frame behind the seat is narrower than normal) and she is very happy. Expect a little fiddling about but great for a low cost rack.

I got this rack because of the "3-point mounting system" but when I got it, it turned out that it has two holes where it attaches to the frame of the bike instead of one. So it doesn't makes it really a "3-point mounting system". It didn't work for me at the end, since my bike has just one hole on the frame to put the rack.

This rack doesn't weigh 750g - with all the fittings it actually comes to around 1.8kg. So it's a fine cheap choice for a mountain bike, but annoyingly heavy for a road bike.

The carrier's good and does the trick but after about an hour trying to afix it to my bike using the parts included I gave up. It's now held on using a combination of various parts I found in a drawer. Not sure if that's a reflection on my abilities or my bike but I have an ordinary mountain bike, but the parts provided would not fit around the seat.

Item just as described - well made and but was a bit tricky to fit to my bike. Looks the business and ideal for carrying what I want.
