Objective Proficiency Student's Book with Answers with Downloadable Software

I use this book with the 2 exam books to prepare for the CPE 2020 and pass first time around. For 5 months I studied the objective proficiency book 1 hour per day Monday to Friday after work and at the weekend I use the exam books and I did 1 full exam on Saturday and another one on Sunday morning.When I got to the exam it felt like another day at home doing exercises.The best thing of the book it is that it is extremely well structured, covers all the parts Grammar, reading, writing, speaking and listening and almost all exercises are exam type.If you want to pass CPE exam this book is the book.

I used the first units (in combination with CPE practice tests) to prepare for the CPE exam. I found excellent! I soon realised I was running out of time, so I stopped using it.. bit bought it immediately after passing my CPE!It's the best book for C2 students, I think :)

It is a good book and gives a lot of exercises and the opportunity to highlight some weaknesses. However, at this level it is impossible to cover everything for the CPE exam in one book. Therefore, the Cambridge website's tips are absolutely crucial for anyone's preparation, especially about reading a very wide range of literature, including newspapers. For the grammar part, there are various exercise books available to give one more in depth practice. Myself, I found grammar books even at CAE level helpful.
