It is very orange in terms of color. I have olive skin, so this is a bit of an inconvenience, but it sits SO well under makeup that I don't really mind. I do wish I could wear it without having to cover it in makeup, though.I don't tan while wearing it, which suggests the UVA protection is good enough to rely on.The smell can also potentially be a bit of a bother for some, as it does not go away when it is dry. If you enjoy fruity scents and do not get headaches from fragrance, this is the primer for you.If you are at all sensitive to scents, avoid this one at all costs.

It seems like e.l.f. is discontinuing this, and I'm legit distraught. (Also, I apologize for buying the what seemed to be the last tube sold by Amazon itself, at normal price, back in May.) Yes, it may leave a bit of a whitish cast on the face if you use too much despite the fact it's tinted, but what do you expect from an SPF 50 product that's 25% zinc oxide? Just color-correct with a dab of a darker shade of foundation mixed into your regular shade on days when you put on too much. I love having such a high SPF built right into a (non-comedogenic!) product that I use every morning. See you, space cowboy.

I put this on under my makeup and do not need to use a foundation primer when I use this. It is slightly tinted more for yellow undertones and is more tan than my skin tone but blends nicely and does not change the color of my foundation. I am white, with fair to ivory skin tone. I have combination oily to dry skin. This does not make me break out like other sunscreens do. It's not heavy on the face and is good to wear alone or with foundation. If you have a darker complexion I think it would still work as when you rub it in it disappears and does not mess with foundation.

I would say this more of a very thick and heavily tinted foundation (with only one shade)...not really a primer...putting foundation over this makes you look like you have WAY too much makeup on. I use it for days I'm going swimming or not planning on wearing makeup but need a high spf sunscreen that doesn't melt or get into my eyes and sting

If you have super dry skin, I probably wouldn’t recommend or I would at least moisturize before using. It’s a great product for a great price. This is my 4th tube and it’s my go to. I haven’t found a better primer with SPF for a better price yet. This is the best deal

Although this was a bit thick, I’m very happy that there’s color to it plus it has a high spf. I haven’t used it around water yet so don’t know how it’ll stay on but it should be just what I wanted for yardwork and outdoor activities without having to use separate sunscreen and bronzer.

This is my second purchase of this Skin Shielding Primer from ELF. I'm light skinned and require decent SPF. I do not like a lot of foundation so this is perfect and serves three purposes. I add some concealer (also ELF), and some finishing powder.
