Passed CAPM on first try with this book
I passed my CAPM last month with the help of this book on my first try. Joseph made reading through all the chapters so much easier. (The PMBOK 5th guide is dry as hell. I gave up after reading the first 3 chapters) I used this book for 80% of the time, with the remaining 20% cross referencing to the PMBOK guide for the flow of inputs and outputs. I will like to share some tips on passing the CAPM:1) The questions are direct. What is the input of this? What is the output of that? What are the techniques? My gut feel is that these questions form 30% to 40% of the total number of questions. I didn't memorize all the input / output and techniques. I only have a rough idea. Guessing during exam wasn't much fun.2) Joseph's tips and cheat sheet work. Buy the book to learn about them.3) Practice the questions on the CD. Some questions need updating but overall, it made me feel more confident to take the exam4) Pour in many hours of study. (I clocked close to 5 months of self study after work)I think Joseph can improve the book by highlighting which portions are for CAPM and which are for PMP. I read through the whole book hoping those points that are too tedious to memorize and understand belong to PMP. Overall, a good buy. Recommended for all taking CAPM.

The soul source to PASS your exam.
This is the only study material I used to pass the exam and success. I highly recommend this for anyone who is looking for test preparation material. The end of the chapter questions are very similar to the exam questions and they provide excellent detail on why the correct answer is correct and why the wrong answers are wrong. The included study guild-cheat sheet included in the CD in PDF form is great material for quick studying when you don't have time to thoroughly study for a particular day.The practice exam is pretty good, but the end of the chapter questions as I mentioned, is far better. You do not need the PMBOK to pass the exam. All you need is 'THIS BOOK" and read it word for word. And review ALL of the end of the chapter questions one to two days before the exam and you'll be fine. I waited to pass the exam before I wrote this review so it will be fully tested and credible.

I used this book to pass the exam
I recently took and passed the CAPM exam and I used this book to help study. After having taken the exam I would not recommend reading this book to help study, but I would recommend using its practice questions at the end of each chapter as well as using the disc that comes with it. The disc that comes with it had very useful tools such as practice exams and charts for ITTOs and processes. Overall I would recommend purchasing this book based on the helpful tools it comes with. For those of you looking for more info on how to pass the exam keep reading!I passed the CAPM exam on my first try with an "above target" score in every category after studying for 10 days about 3-4 hours a day on average. THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO CONSIDER - PMI has an outline for what is on the CAPM exam. This outline was very accurate when it came to what was on the exam and how much of it there was.The majority of my studying was spent searching the PMBOK guide for where it talks about exactly what was on the outline. If you know what is on the outline you will know what is on the exam. Also, I did not memorize ITTOs but I have a very good understanding for them. Just like what the outline shows, processes and ITTOs were on the test a lot.Good luck!

A great resource those preparing for the CAPM/PMP exam.
The book is very clearly written and the resources on the CD are great help. In fact, the study aids on the CD are worth the price of the book by themselves. As a discipline, project management is boring beyond belief, and it seems to me that the primary function of the Project Management Institute is to develop a strict vocabulary to apply to a series of steps that are largely common sense. The vocabulary is the gatekeeper, however, so you need to gain facility in using it. Since you'll need to know the proper names for all of your processes, lists, registers, charters, and ITTOs to pass your exam, you may as well get the help of someone who knows what you need to know.

Passed the CAPM on my first try!
I ordered this book online all the way from Lebanon. I studied for my certification over a duration of 3 weeks, allocating about 3 hours a day. All I used was this awesome guide that I would recommend anyone to buy. (did not even get the PMBOK)My studying technique:- Read each and every single word of this book while jotting down your own summary notes as they will be your number 1 source for reviewing (don't miss the end-of-chapter summaries as some have more info not included in the chapters themselves)- Take the mock-exam provided for as many times as you till you score >90 to a 100. Also end-of-chapter quizzes are essential.- Take all kinds of mock exams you can find online. Some are very useful (Brainbok for example) and write down notes for questions you've missed.- Read the ITTO summary sheet provided in the CD everyday. I did not particularly memorise it, I just understood what each process is and all the terms in the ITTO, so I got a logic out of it.- Just be motivated to pass the exam as the feeling upon directly receiving the result is tremendous!!!!Thank you Joseph Phillips!

Excellent! Study this book and go take the test!
This is an excellent book! It's written very well easy to understand and I will be taking it to work with me a reference. The tests after each chapter are good but the tests on the disc are outstanding and so many. It actually simulates the real test. There's one for CAPM, PMP, a Process test, and then a combination of the two capm,/pmp. The test can also be customized for particular test questions on chapters you may want to concentrate on. The author also includes videos, worksheets, and terms. This is an excellent buy for the money!!!Kudos to the author excellent material!!!!! Your book was the best and I could actually get through the entire book where I struggled to get through others
