Brilliant!
I tried to make something like this myself a few years back from a sheet of plywood and four inch nails. It sort of worked but the nails bent and the whole thing was not sturdy BUT this WONDERFUL bit of kit is BRILLIANT. Easy to assemble in10 minutes. I strapped them to some old deck shoes and the straps were quite long. Of course you can cut the end to shorten them and seal the end with a lighter to stop it fraying but I left mine long as I think I’ll use some sturdy walking boots next time. I needed to tighten the straps halfway through so I think boots will be better. Don’t leave the straps flying in the wind as you will stab one of them and fall bottom over boob! I’m 95 kg plus so I sank in our wet lawn with ease. A drier lawn and a less obese skinny dinny operator might struggle. I half expected to find broken or bent spikes at the end but not so ; pristine but spike bases needed brushing off as a little clod of soil forms. I used a crab like side to side movement rather than pacing up and down as I could see where I had been more easily. Great product. Don’t hesitate to buy. I’ve had two knee replacements in the last year and this was great physiotherapy! I’ll need them again for next Christmas shopping, other shoppers are inclined to keep their distance from a spiked clod hopper!!

Aerate the whole garden with these sandals is a dream
I have nothing to say about how the product was built and easy to assemble and all those stuff, the problem with this product is it is not made for someone with more than 90KG like me, sandals get so deeply nailed to the soil, that is impossible then to lift your legs to make our next step. Also, the surface they cover could be too small for the size of a regular garden... you'll need hours to make holes the required holes. In my opinion, this is just for a small lawn patch.

Longer straps please
It does do the ob. I chose this version over the £12 one, as i thought spending double would mean a higher quality product - I’m not sure as I’ve not tested the other one, but these are GOOD. They arrived within 24 hours (thank you prime) and were easy to assemble. Very simple and the tool provided is great. The straps as others have mentioned can be TOO Short. I think they should add 25% length to all the straps immediately. I’m a size 11 and it was a struggle getting them on. I devised a way of looping which made the strap go further and it was fine, but the ankle strap is just about long enough for me in trainers. The buckles seem to be strong and study and were able to withstand my vigorous walking. However, they do feel a little mass produced, heavy duty plastic with metal studs etc, quality is OK but I’m not left thinking they’re amazing. Job was done, and not too difficult. A storage box/method would be a nice addition. In general would buy again but would like longer straps, especially for the ankle!

Do not buy
The assembling the shoes is not as bad. But whats bad is that the straps are long from here to the moon and back. Once the item is assembled i start using it. Fit them somehow if you not a giant and start walking. After 5 minutes of use the heel of one of the shoes snapped and left me with the shoe hanging on my lawn frustrated and just about to fall and break my neck.So save yourself the frustration and the wasted time and go buy some other product and not this.I would give 0 stars but not possible

Do the job, but hard work. Ankles straps far too short. Generally good value though.
These appear to be the best design of dozens of similar products on Amazon. They aren't the most expensive, nor the cheapest, and they all appear over-priced for what is essentially 2 pieces of moulded plastic and 20 or so sharpened bolts. That said, they do the job well with a bit of effort.I have 450m2 of lawn and it took me around 4 hours to do the lot, it's pretty hard going. I also wore them whilst mowing to add extra aeration holes, though the instructions advise against that (presumably for health and safety reasons).Obviously, these can't compete with the expensive hollow tined roller machines, but as far as cheap options go I'd have to say I am pretty satisfied.I have knocked a star off for sturdiness as It's easy to bend a spike if you don't place your foot completely straight on the ground. Easy enough to bend back though. My only other gripe, and this has been commented on by others is that the ankle strap is about 10-15cm too short. I wore shoes rather than boots and the straps still only just reached round my ankles. If I'd been wearing boots then there wouldn't have been a chance of them reaching. Sort that out though and these would be not far off perfect for the job.

Sturdy and well built
So this came very late and only when I emailed the seller I was told it was because they recalled them because of buyer concerns with the length of the straps. Understandably I waited.20 days later I received them I only assembled them yesterday. I found the screws easy to install and it comes with a small spanner to tighten them. I found 2 extra long straps which I assumed was the new addition to the product and they were VERY long so there shouldn't be any issues. Anyway I will probably end up cutting the straps shorter as they get in the way when you walk on the grass. The next step I was walking on my dry lawn and they worked perfectly. The shoes stayed on my feet as I tightened the straps more and the sole was strong enough.Overall I am happy with them

Straps constantly coming loose
Thought these were a good idea for small lawn! Took a long time to get straps tight enough but although I am a size 6 shoe the strap over the toe would not stay on. I think because we have had so much rain the spikes sank so low I would only do 4-5 steps before all straps came loose and could have caused me to fall. I find better to just use on one foot to keep me steady. Spikes on a roller would have been better. Unlike other reviews I found they are made for big feet and the straps too long.

So much hassle
They just don’t stay on easily. You have to really tuck the straps out the way otherwise you’ll tread on them and spike through them. Any resistance from the ground really pulls them and it’s all just a bit ridiculous. However I did manage to get round the whole garden and I’m convinced it’s had a positive effect on the lawn. I do wish I’d spent another £15 to get a rotating one on a pole.
