I'm giving 5 stars based on what it IS--an economy model at a reasonable price. I got the better strings to immediately upgrade it [I chose the Martin M600 strings] and it sounds like a real instrument, not just a toy.The color-matched gig bag is cute, if flimsy--it keeps dust off, at least!One really neat thing about this brand, that I didn't realize until I'd had it for a few days: the metal pieces that bolt the tuning pegs onto the headstock have dolphins on the back!I'd recommend getting an electronic tuner, especially if you're more of a beginner and don't know notes just by hearing them.

Not only did we not receive the tuner as advertised but the ukulele is defective and side gauges for tuners won’t even spin to make it a soprano ukulele as advertised by this company! Now I’m getting the run around about returning it! Do not purchase from this company!!!!!

I purchased these ukuleles in rainbow colors for my elementary general music classroom. I would describe them as a good classroom instrument because they are of a quality that young students can experience learning to play, while I am able to relax and let them strum away to their hearts content. The instruments, only a week old in my classroom, are still requiring quite a bit of tuning. I have been playing one I bought at a local music store (for $10 more than Amazon's price), and after 3 weeks of play it is finally holding its tune fairly well. I chose this product because of it's price (fairly easy to replace if disaster occurs), and the colors appeal to the kids, too. The quality has been good for most of the instruments, but a few have some scuffs or discolorations on the body. As with any instrument, some have better sound and tuning than others, but overall I am pleased with the quality of the sound as well.

Doesn't stay in tune at all, just kind of cheap. Spend a little bit more money on something better.

I got this as my first ukulele. I had no idea i I would even want to play considering I am totally turned off by guitars. I quickly changed out the strings for martin m600s. Excellent strings for this ukulele, highly recommended! Also get an electronic tuner with this! After a couple of weeks I ordered another ukulele and waited for that to arrive before starting to work on the action. I took a lot off the nut and currently there's an occasional buzz when I fret the 'a' string at the first fret. It still frets a touch sharp at the first fret but acceptable. My 2yro son has taken ownership of this ukulele and plays it when I play my current one. I'll probably work on the nut some more in the future if my son doesn't destroy it.All in all I'd say these are probably okay kids' ukes, also good as a training uke for practicing setup skills as well. i could see buying a set of these and working them over for ukulele group spares, etc.

No complaints at all about these! We've ordered 2 so far, and more of the kids want one. Colors are great, price is even better!

This gets a ton of use from my 5-yr old. It's good quality and my daughter plays with it almost daily over the last year and it's still holding up. Every once in a while, I'll tune it against an electric tuner and it seems to hold it's sound well.

There is nothing good about this product, cant be a toy as it does not produce music any kid or any one will like, cant be a decorative as its colored by paint which will wade off as you clean the regular dust, not a musical instrument as cannot play any music .
