You can switch it to suit you, right or left handed, tip up or down! **Q: Is this spring assisted?** A: No, it is not spring assisted. **Q: I bought one last week and on the first use the edge cracked. I hope thus was just a flaw in the metal. How about a replacement?** A: You will have to contact the Ontario knife company or look on their website for return info. I thought the Rat 1 was a good size but the Rat 2 is a perfect size. They are both well made pocket knives. Much higher quality than their price point indicates. I personally avoid the black coated blades because of the tendency for them to show wear more.
