Play Along: Special Edition

Wow, could this…..be my favorite book of the series? I love, love love love LOVE Isaiah. He is wonderful and perfect. I’d still die for Kai, but damn boy 😭 Kenny deserves all good things in the world and I’m so happy she got them 😭😭😭😭 10/10, a million stars.

The tears. So many tears. I didn’t think anyone would top Kai & Miller for me but I am in love with Isaiah & Kennedy.

This was hands down the most emotional book in the series. Forget everything you thought you knew about Isaiah because baby he is HUSBAND MATERIAL, and Kennedy didn’t stand a CHANCE. Isaiah showed Kennedy the unconditional love and devotion she’d never had growing up. Kennedy gave Isaiah a place to hide away from the world when he needed a safe place to break. There are so many little (and big) moments that were beautiful and will take you by surprise. I’d list them all but I think experiencing this book for yourself is the best way to feel all the emotions of Isaiah and Kennedy’s journey both as individuals and as a couple. And their CHEMISTRY?! Once Isaiah was let loose, he wasted no time showing Kennedy just how good they could be together. I have all the warm fuzzy feels being back in a Liz book with these characters we’ve come to love so much! Isaiah and Kennedy as a couple were a great addition to the found family, and I wish I could reread this book and the series for the first time again.

I have no words to describe the stories that Liz writes. Her words mean so much to me. She’s created so many characters that have changed my life. Isaiah and Kenny are a couple that I will think about forever. I didn’t think I could love a fictional character as much but leave it to Liz to create a Completely Perfect Man. I have nothing to compare him too. The way he’s obsessed with Kenny. The way he waited for her. My god. Play along isn’t just a book it’s everything. It’s everything every girl wants in a romance. It’s everything someone would want in their real life romance. Their chemistry was just insane. I can’t even describe my love for them. This book made me cry. Laugh and just gave me butterflies CONSTANTLY. Absolutely loved it. It Will be the best sports romance you read this year. Hands down.

5⭐️ 3🌶️ Tropes: accidental marriage in Vegas, fake relationship, baseball romance, he pines for her ISIAH MF RHODES. This man was everything. The way he legit has been pining and wanting Kennedy so hard for so long, I was cheering him on to win his woman the entire book. This book gave me all the feels. I laughed, I giggled, I cried and so did my 🐱 if ya catch my drift. This man understands the meaning of “it’s the little things”. It was so beautiful watching Kennedy grow into the woman she wanted to be but also becoming comfortable in her own skin. This story was so much more than I was expecting and I adored every single second of it. Absolute amazingness.💜

Ugh. Windy. City. Perfection. Read this book NOW! The banter. The heart. The SWOON! The badassery of women in sports?!?!?! Loved it.I wish I stuck it out and rad it faster instead of scrolling on my phone! No third Act Breakup? Love. The space and understanding Isiah constantly offers Kenny. Love? The feminism in sports? Love. I found myself relating to these characters on a personal level that I haven’t experienced before and it was delightful to see such candid examples of anxiety in Isaiah. I think a lot of people with mental health issues can really relate to coping through making yourself a person that nobody would ever leave. That stuff hit close to home and it warmed my heart at the resolve by the end of the story! Kenny is just a. Abadan’s who is stepping into her confidence from the first page of this book and I LOVED IT!!! I knew everything was gonna fall into place by the end of the story but when she finally got it I was still pumping my fist in the air!!! the spice was spicy and satisfyinngggg!! I loved how the buildup made it so safe to have the courage to ask. I think Liz is just becoming one of those authors that knows how to write found family stories WELL!!!! It made ya girl shed a tear a couple of times from the LOVE and SUPPORT these friend offer 3each other. I feel like I got more of Miller and Kai and it made me happpyyyyy! the kids of all the players in the Windy City series are gonna besties and I love it for them! they’re so cute! Fantastic book Liz. I have a sneaking suspicion I will see more of Reese and Rio…IYKYK

Isiah is my new favorite MMC in the Windy City series. He is the perfect book boyfriend. The way he loves and cares for Kennedy. I just couldn’t get enough of this story. It was literal perfection!

“So, who is she?” “My future wife.” There is nothing better than reading a book you can’t put down. Play Along was that and more for me because I could not stop reading and I still can’t stop thinking about Isaiah and Kennedy. Liz writes in such a way that you feel immediately immersed in the lives of the characters. When we met Isaiah and Kennedy in Caught Up, I was drawn to them right away and was so excited to learn that their book would be next (though I’m still insanely excited for Rio to finally get his book!!!!) Isaiah is so funny and charming and goofy while Kennedy is quiet and reserved and keeps to herself. Oil and vinegar right? But doesn’t that make it so much more great when they’re forced to be together?! When Isaiah and Kennedy find themselves accidentally married after a trip to Vegas, Isaiah comes up with a plan for them to fake to ensure Kennedy doesn’t lose her job with the team thanks to its archaic rules and her sexiest boss. They agree to stay married for one baseball season, just long enough to keep her job safe. But Isaiah’s playing his own game too, using this time to show Kennedy who he really is and trying to conceive her this can be more than fake. Kennedy doesn’t want to join his game but Isaiah doesn’t like to lose so it’s time to play along. To say I’m obsessed (iykyk) with this book is an understatement. I have loved every book in this series and Ryan Shay has been my number one until now! I honestly didn’t think anyone could ever top him, but Isaiah Rhodes has unseated him and become my new number one! The boys in the Windy City Series are top notch and I just know we’re going to go out with a bang when we get Rio’s book.
