Not what I expected
This was not what I expected. The placemats are more silver in color than gray, almost metallic. The weave of the placemats are not tight and are more suitable for outdoor use than indoor regular use with a family. Any spills will go straight through onto the table. I don't see how these will be easy to clean. I envision having to throw them away after one spill because food will get stuck in the tiny spaces of the tiny holes.

Work surprisingly well!
These placemats are beautiful. We've purchased many colors and used them for several months now. Occasionally a liquid will slip through but 99% of the time liquid (water especially) just pools on top and wipes away easily. I haven't seen any issues arise from hot dishes but I'd avoid using these as a replacement for a trivet. They are a stylish and easy to clean addition to any table!

Ease of care, looks good
The ease of cleaning. My mentally challenged brother now lives with me and can spill frequently while eating. I just take the placement to the trash can scrape the food off and rinse under the sink and dry with a paper towel. They look expensive and give the table a finished appearance. I have several colors of these.

These are great for a glass table
I love these. They're gorgeous. They catch light and the different shades alternate from dark to light as you walk around the table. They do have a rubbery feeling, so if that bothers you because you need fancy cloth, these aren't for you. I have a glass table, so the fact that they grip the table a little bit is nice. They look metallic in real life.

Attractive placemats
They were not heat resistant. My table got scorched. I loved the color and style.
