Worked Great!
I'm not sure what some folks do to cause some of the tearing you read about, but all ten lanterns worked great for me. The only issue I had was that I think these lanterns take a little longer to heat up than others I have used before. But not that much longer and they all worked regardless. The trick is to be patient and make sure conditions are proper for launch.

GREAT! ... Better than illustrated
10 Sky Lanterns Chinese Wishing Lantern - RedBeautiful, paper as described.... Came with a better fuel cell, a hard cubic material. Important to me, in terms of environment issues, is that the paper will eventually disintegrate! In terms of flying quality, it is constructed with a strong structure to form the bottom that facilitates lighting of fuel cell, flight startup, reduce wind drag and provides stability during elevation! This light metal structure, to my evaluation is sturdier than required and will eventually corrode. It will cause the balloon to fly better by stabilizing its topology or form while hot air is filling the aircraft!Thus the product distributed by GoGo is better than shown. The product visual shows a string fabric structure to hold the fuel cell with a paper like fuel cell. Lanterns made with string are weak with less than optimal flying quality!!This version from GoGo is much better! When I flew it behaved just as I envisioned! Great! I was very happy seeing how well it flew. Wind did not alter the shape of the balloon!Shipping was fast!

Item not as described and wrong color!
They were advertised as " Red Heats". They arrived, and they are Orange Lanters.My Father passed away in January of this year, and I got them to celebrate a Fathers Day for him.I was disappointed that they were not what I ordered, however I was not going to get into "returning" them, and have nothing to send up for my Dad.

Ordered these for the family to use during the holidays. They were easy to use, and looked great! We used them in near freezing temperatures too... so for them to fly as high as they did and go so far was quite impressive. Only downside is the instructions printed on the individual lanterns isn't easy to understand, and it's easier to just figure out on your own.

Pretty, but beware
You need two people to light them. One to hold it because they're tall and another to light it. Stay away from trees! I heard there could be new government regulations prohibiting them because of the fire danger. I think that's a good idea. But they sure are pretty!

Pretty cool
You almost have to ruin one unless you know already how to master the lighting technique. Once you ruin one, the rest are perfect. Family loved it.

I bought as a gift....haven't used one yet.
I bought these as a gift for a very close friend who was in awe when we first saw them. I ordered them and they came within 2 days. Surprised, I checked where they were shipped from and it was literally right up the street. Hahaha. I'll edit my review when these are lit, and I'll let everyone know how they are.
