Color:Pewter/Mimosa BackTpack was designed by a physical therapist to reduce pain and train tall strong posture with everyday carrying. Tall strong posture is the foundation of fitness and injury prevention. With BackTpack, side-bags apply the load onto the vertical spinal axis so that bones, muscles, and all the systems of the body can work in harmony with gravity. BackTpack provides access to your items at all times, organized in multiple compartments. Secure location at your sides deters access by others. It is safe for users and those around you when in crowded areas. You have better balance, control, and awareness of the space you occupy. You can sit with it on, avoiding the frequent twisting and bending required to remove and put on other bags. The Lap-Strap feature of BackTpack transfers the load to your thighs and off your shoulders and spine when you sit and when you squat. BackTpack 4?s Hip-Loading belt may be used when necessary for long distances, heavy loads or spinal pathology, to take some load off the shoulders and spine and transfer it to the hips. BackTpack 4 also has a unique Hip-Width Adjuster which fits all hip sizes, and holds the bag from sliding forward when bending forward or riding a bicycle. Why does the load feel lighter with BackTpack? With a conventional backpack the load is behind you, but the support is at the front of your shoulders, creating a horizontal force component. This horizontal component is added to the weight of the load. With BackTpack there is no horizontal force. Less total force is required, so the load feels lighter! Why can you stand straight with BackTpack? The load aligns vertically with your center of gravity, unlike a conventional backpack, which places the load behind you. No more leaning forward to keep from falling over, even if the load is increased.

A Wonderful Ergonomic Backpack That Actually Works!
I love this backpack! To give you some background, Im 23 years old and have been using traditional backpacks my whole life to carry textbooks in middle school, high school, and college. My back and shoulders would sore after carrying those books for hours between classes. Thus, I have been recently looking for a ergonomic backpack. I researched for hours and I was stunned by the design of this one. I immediately bought one and I have been using it as a total replacement for my old traditional backpack. This backpack tremendously helped me when I first started using it, as it helps to distribute the weight across your body and takes it off your spine. I love the amount of pockets that are easily accessible when your standing and white your sitting. In addition, this backpack is the only one that I have ever been able to sit and still use on a armless chair. I love using this backpack, and it feels so natural. I would highly recommend if your looking for an ergonomic backpack, give this product a chance. The design is completely innovative, and I no longer plan to use traditional backpacks anymore because of this product. Thank you for creating this product! I'll update this review after I have started a new job.

Highly recommended for ALL students, hikers, bikers... the list goes on!!!
I have had this backpack since I first heard about it in 2016 (ordered it directly off of their original website) and it’s STILL going strong after 3 years of grad school. I ordered it after I first had spine surgery and knew I needed to start taking care of my back more. I love loading this thing up and, like magic, you put the straps on and you don’t feel it your laptop+books+food+stethoscope+binders+water bottle and whatever else you find to put in here. I love it. For those times you need to appear more “professional”, the two main compartments can be snapped together and appear like a briefcase- but then i am quickly reminded of all that I carry, and that never lasts long, hehe.Pros:- Excellent for balance (I can lean down and tie my shoes and not have to take it off!), if you’re a grad student, like to bike.- on those days that you’re seriously lugging everything around, the extra chest and hip strap really help- The bag part is super deceptive in terms of how wide it can expand/what it can actually hold- I can easily tuck a 2.5” binder and some books when needed.- So many pockets!- Waterproof!- The sellers were honestly the most helpful and kindest individuals and helped me choose the right one for me. Their customer service ALONE is like 10/5 stars. There’s only a few setbacks I’ve had since using this:- The straps are the biggest learning curve- they can get tangled easily. I found that packing it and propping the main straps on the back of the wooden chair for a few days helped it define its “shape” before using it daily helped.- I wish the mesh pocket fit a 1L Nalgene water bottle- You’ll feel like you’re doing some sort of math equation when you load up your backpack the first time- I know it took me a few times to decide how to organize it, then which would be my my “laptop and main folder back” and then which would be my “books/water bottle/cords/snack” bag, reminding myself that balance and what felt “right” were the main goals here. It’s easy to figure out through regular use (even when you’re tired and in the middle of exams!)Also: if you’re on a college campus, you’re going to get lots of stares. Lots. You may also get some questions. I got mine mainly from faculty who were curious and saw how I was able to stand straighter versus my classmates who also liked to pack everything and the kitchen sink in a traditional panic. Don’t let the stares deter you away from preserving your back health- you only get one spine!!As someone about to enter the medical field and had herniated disks all throughout my throasic spine, I can’t recommend this backpack enough. I wish medical/nursing schools would look into recommending this product, since so many sacrifice so much, including their physical health, to ultimately take care of others. I love and believe in this product and I hope this product expands to reach more people in the future. It saved my back during the most critical years of my medical education.
